For bama shows how college basketball will never be the same as the good ole days. He got paid big money to be a role player on a very good team. He barely played in the biggest game of the year.

Alabama would have likely been no better or worse this year with or without Cliff. He would have likely given us 4-5 more wins

13 minute homecoming….Total non factor, missing dunks, setting weak screen and roles. Good luck in Europe, Cliff.

According to the Carino article he tweaked his knee in the first half and couldnt go. But the point still stands, he got paid 7 figs to be a role player, with almost identical stats to last year, and they still end up not winning anything. Can’t be sustainable.

Yeah he got hurt.

He had identical stats on massive increases in efficiency in 70% of the minutes.

He started for a top 10 team. You are really downplaying cliff.

In Europe, big men know how to screen and roll to the basket. They also know how to pass and shoot.

Cliff at Bama was a luxury. Not a necessity.

GO RU

His efficiency numbers were better because he never shot anything this year unless he was within 3 feet of basket. He literally never posted his man. Yes, he started but he only averaged 19 minutes a game. He also had half the amount of blocked shots and less offensive and defensive rebounds. He also still never learned how to effectively catch the basketball on passes and loose balls

He was a role player that contributed. He was in his senior year and paid 1.5 million. My point is he should have been much more of a factor in the season and he was a no show yesterday

Cliff had an excellent season on an excellent team

His role was what his role should have always been. You don't knock Cliff for playing within the role and system the coach wanted. That is a positive for Cliff not a negative
Not disagreeing with role part but an excellent season? You have a low bar as far as that word is concerned. He was not good in the biggest game of year and he averaged 19 minutes a game, 8 points a game, 6.5 rebounds a game and about 1 block a game. Hardly excellent numbers

Cliff wasn't a role player at Rutgers as compared to with Alabama. He was more needed at both ends of the court while at Rutgers.

I don’t want to keep being “that guy” but there is zero chance Cliff would have given Rutgers 4-5 extra wins this year. The reason why he doesn’t play in crunch time and much in the tournament for that fact is because he just isn’t that good.

Never shooting unless you are 3 feet from the basket is called coaching . . .

You’re clueless on this one. A competent center would’ve changed everything for our team. There were so many games where the offense was awesome but we just couldn’t stop anyone. The reason for that was that any penetration attempt was either an easy basket or a foul. We almost never stopped anyone. We tried packing the paint but then teams buried us from 3 aside from the occasional poor shooting night which allowed us to win some games and play a few good teams tight. But a center who defended in the post would’ve made a massive difference.

I wish RU had a center that shot 16-22 and averaged 10 and 6 w 2 blocks and 1.5 steals in four NCAA games this year
He was probably the highest paid player on the team, yet was a big disappointment in last two games. He played well against Robert Morris and St Mary's and shit the bed against the two good teams. He also shit the bed against his former team.

I’m not doing this again. I already posted data about Cliff and WAR. So come back with with some data to support 4-5 wins. I guesss Nate Oats is clueless too by not playing Cliff when it mattered and they needed to make defensive stops. You’ll prob come back with “CliF BlOcKeD ShOTs”. Bottom line is he was not a good defender or rebounder. He got pushed around by anyone who was an above average player. Cliff only looked good playing mediocre competition. Look up when I posted about how he was outplayed by everyone expect teams with terrible big men.

He couldn't even dominate against Martini, and he was a no show in his last Rutgers game against MD. He didn't seem at all interested in that senior night game

Who gives a shit? Not Alabama. He played great minutes for them.

Not a good rebounder but he was Bama's second best per 40

He’s a center isn’t that what he’s supposed to do? He was 14th in the SEC in rebounds per. Clap clap.

All I know is his defense was about 500 times better than the guy who replaced him on our team. The output on the court supports this conclusion. I’d take a guy who contests shots that deflect out on us but isn’t great at securing rebounds any day over a guy who doesn’t defend at all in the paint. That’s what the bar became in 2024-25 and why we sucked. So yeah, I think with someone like Cliff who actually played D at all the results would’ve been very different.

In case you weren’t aware, Bsma fans expect to win. They ultimately lost and Cliff was definitely a contributing factor in that loss, so Bama fans do certainly care.

If that's the case, they should care more about Nate Oates and his $5m salary then.
He got paid even more for a "failure" of a season only making the Elite 8.

Cliff was more than just a role player for Bama this year.

No offense - but did you actually watch any of their games?

Cliff would be pretty far down on the list for why they lost. Mark Sears on the other hand who is supposed to be their best player only scored 6 points, and had a down year generally compared to last year, would be the main culprit.

Are you shocked that he's trying to lay blame at the feet of the guy who left with an injury after 13 mins?
