With the change for all former Scarlet Lot season ticket holders going to either the Green or Yellow
lots there may be some traffic problems. I don't think we'll see it in the first few OOC games but will later in the year.
The potential problem is entering and leaving from the lots using just the one road and one entrance for each lot.
Just something to think about.

I'm sure the parking attendants will be on top of it. That's a joke, of course. For the St. John's charity game, the press release indicated that fans could park in either Green or Yellow for $10. When I arrived at the Green lot way before game time, there was a sign that said Green Passes Only which I thought was strange since none were issued. When I pulled in to the lot, the attendant said "green passes only". I told him that I have a green pass for all regular season games but they were not issued since this was an exhibition and that it was first come first served per the release but he said that only media could park there. I told him that was ridiculous, you weren't going to need that whole lot for 10 media people. Drove in, attempted to give the guy my $10 which he wouldn't take & parked there anyway, but for free. There were a whole bunch of parking attendants but apparently the most basic information concerning the parking was not communicated. So, Rutgers.

I actually think it will be better. The biggest issue with RAC exit is that they let the green and red lots exit in both directions and run the two into each other/periodically hold traffic to let cars from the other lot go.

I'm going to the RAC tonite for the first time in 15 years. No tickets. Driving. Will they be directing me where to park?? How much is parking??

That is true and I complained about that for a few years and nothing was done.
However, there is now 1 entrance for the Green Lot on Hospital Rd and most people coming from Suttons Lane will have to go past all the people going to the Yellow before confronting all the people coming from Avenue E on the other side of the road.
I'm not familiar with the traffic pattern for Rockafeller Rd entering the lots because I've never arrived that way. I only leave that way after a game.

All parking is north of the RAC now. (Health Center is on south side). Closet to the RAC is Green and you need a Green Parking pass. The lot further away is Yellow and those who don't have passes and those who already have Yellow passes both park in that lot only.

everything backs up for 4K fans so expect it to be a nightmare for a 7PM game with cold windy conditions...leave plenty of extra time...forecast calls for headaches and I will be examining and critiquing the cracks in the sidewalks on the way to the RAC enterence

You'll need to bring a flashlight then since there is no lighting on that path. Rutgers basketball is back, baby!!!

These are the things...ugh. :(

Hopefully the both of you can report back you didn’t trip and you could see where you were going.

I'm sure the RAC parking lot will be extra cold tonight. Just like usual.

They need more planning for the yellow lot. Cannot have season ticket holders waiting behind a very slow cash attendant. Can't imagine what is going to happen for the two major OOC games and the B1G slate of games!!!

the RAC needs some serious lighting on the sides to light the place up and create some excitement (not to mention being able to see better). Just get some red and white spots to shoot up the sides...glad to see the new pavement though!

Been only suggesting things like this for years on here and the Issues Board.

I'll donate one $3.65 solar light from Lowe's to light the path. Any one else want to buy one and we can line the sides of the walkway with them. Why don't they just rent one portable light like theyvdo for football. I have a tripod light that we use for early morning tailgate set up that would suffice.

First phone call Monday morning is going to complain about this. To take it a step further we met a seat mate before the game and he has is own parking pass. He has 46 PP and has a green pass I have 98. Please give a call on Monday asking for separate line for yellow passes.

me two...

Sometimes all they need to do is step back and approach the game like a fan would and change the perspective. they'd see it then.

I left yesterday through the rear doors to the green lot (next to the new AC units). The walkway is still a mess, and I overheard someone else complaining that it was really dark. The weird thing is that there are light posts along the walkway, but the lights weren't turned on.

Meh we should just bring flashlights next time

I got to the game just a few minutes before tipoff, and the traffic in was backed up, pretty much a mess
I can foresee a bigger problem when we have a full house

The annoying thing about this is these are not “donor-specific” issues.

This is general upkeep and maintenance which should be part of the operating budget.

The sidewalk thing while not giving it
a pass I can see there might be more moving parts involved. But a lightbulb(s)?

Come on, man.

I'm not giving them a pass on the walkway. If they had all the equipment to repave the front walkway, they should have included the second walkway 140 feet away.

As far as changing a lightbulb, I'd be surprised if that was the problem, as the lights were out on both light posts. Either there is an electrical problem there, or someone forgot to flip the light switch. I'm going with someone forgot to flip the light switch.

Can you imagine if it was as simple as that?

That would be so us. LOL

But I think what bothers me and others the most on this is these are things we’ve noticed for YEARS and yet...

can you imagine if there was a valid/reasonable explanation ??? man, some of the usual would be disapointed

Sure, if it happens once or twice.

But these things have again been talked about on here for years on here. Years.

obviously if you had a fair/open mined attitude, you might accept a reasonable explanation if there was one

obviously there are more than one that someone can speculate about---that's not my issue--the assumption seems always to be that RU f'ed up--complainers love to speculate about that, for sure

We’ve covered that...things happen, mistakes can be made. We get that.

But this one example, the lighting, has been an issue for quite sometime.

The people in charge of that (Matt) either are incompetent or don't give a shit. Pick one.

If it's not the lights out, it's the walkways being icy. If it's neither of those it's a massive traffic jam with incompetent lazy parking lot attendants. There really is nothing you won't attempt to spin or attack the messenger about.

Rutgers may be spending a good chunk of change on the practice facility but that doesn't mean that basic upkeep can't be done. They have well over half of a year to prepare the parking lots to maximize fan safety and take care of parking. However, it doesn't change as you hear the same complaints year after year. The hoops program/facility needs to be micromanaged much like football, probably even more so since their budget is nothing in comparison.

All of this complaints can be fixed easily by the next game. Let's see if anyone is listening.
