Tidbits - Hartford (12/28/17 Game)

- Hartford is 6-7 so far this year.

- We have 2 common opponents to date as Hartford nipped CCSU by 1 and lost to Bryant by 5.

- Other notable and/or local games played: Lost to 33 at Rider; Lost to Wagner by 22 and lost to BC by 12.

- Jason Dunne (#12) is a Junior - from Matawan HS - and I'm sure many remember him from last year as he was a bit pompous while draining 3's. He is 2nd on the team in scoring averaging 16 PPG.

- Team has 8 foreign players.

- John Linehan is an Assistant Coach - his 1st at Hartford - and I'm sure many remember him as a standout PG at Providence back in the early 2000's as it seemed he played there forever. I vaguely remember a game at the RAC where I think he banged heads with someone and he missed the game.

- John Carroll (#5) leads the team averaging 17.2 PPG and hails from Ireland - part of the foreign group of players. JR Lynch (#13) is 3rd on the squad averaging 12.4 PPG

He was better than a good defender, he was a real pest defensively and gave his all at that end of the court.

Linehan if I recall correctly broke the Big East steals record... not sure if he still holds that crown and not sure if it was a single season or career record.

i could be wrong but i think paul gause of seton hall might hold that one.

Edit: Just checked, he has the seton hall record, not big east but he did lead the big east in steals when he played

Linehan is the all-time NCAA Division I steals leader. He joined the Hartford staff this past summer.
