Some Michigan fans think they have a legitimate shot this year to take out tOSU. Reading a tOSU blog, according to the linked post, they think this year's team will be the most talented in many years, if not ever.

Here's blue chip percentage by year:

Year Blue chip %
2013 83%
2014 70%

The Blog post got me thinking about how the B1G EAST final standings will shake out.

MY Prediction of final standings in B1G East:
Ohio State
Michigan
Michigan State
Rutgers
Penn State
Maryland
Indiana

If I didn't click on the link, I would have assumed your final standing prediction was part of the article.

Edited my OP. Some of our guesses are just as good or better than some blog posters.

I don't care who you are, you just don't replace 5 1st round draft picks and 15-16 starters and expect business as usual. I've read a number of glowing Spring Practice report on the new starters. They may very well be a good as advertised but I can't see them being as good as the guys OSU lost starting from day 1.

The question is (besides Rutgers ;)), who is in a best position to challenge them for winning the B1G East? Michigan State should be down. Yeah, Michigan should be a favorite, but they will be breaking in a new QB (pretty sure it will be the kid from Houston who torched RU in 2014). Don't see anyone else stepping up for a shot at the top spot.

Wait 3 years form now when the incoming 2017 clas have a couple of years. we have a chnace to set the record for highest composite average ever if things shake out like expected. We could end with 8-10 5 stars.

Right now you have to say the top spot will be determined in late November. I don't want to dismiss MSU but this may be a down year for them. I think UM's defense will carry them. The QB transferred after losing his starting job when he couldn't repeat his '13 season but obviously has talent. May not be as good as Ruddock but he may not have to be.

3 years? Heck, I was thinking by the last 1/3 of this season. Just not right from the start.

They won't be. And they'll probably lose to Oklahoma. It might not be close.

Unfortunately for Michigan, they don't play Ohio State until game 12.

They said that last year.. They say that most years.

Anyway, the game being on the road this year is the only reason I don't think we beat them. I do think we have a chance however which is the first time I've ever thought that in 10 years going to Columbus, just given all the players they lost and the fact that we have had multiple NFL ready players return on top of most starters.

I just hope Ohio State chokes against MSU and someone else to where the winner of the game doesn't matter as Michigan already clinched the east with an 11-0 record up to that point. That said;

Ohio State (10-2, 8-1)
Michigan (10-2, 7-2)
Michigan State (8-4, 6-3)
Penn State (7-5, 6-3)
Indiana (6-6, 3-6)
Rutgers (4-8, 3-6)
Maryland (4-8, 1-8)

Yep by the time we get to The Game our young bucks will be on fire. I also think the Oklahoma game will be closer than people think. Yeah we have alot of guys green on game time, but most have been in the program one or two years so it isn't like they are freshmen and we have a experienced leader at the most important position.

I see the Buckeyes experiencing growing pains the first part of the year with vast improvement as the year progresses. Really hard to predict how this year's version will come out of the gate but the teams that play OSU early stand a much better chance than late in the year. I thought the same thing in 2014 - especially after the Virginia Tech loss - and we all know how that ended up.

As for Michigan, I believe this is their best chance to beat the Buckeyes with all of their returning starters. The next few years will see Urban's monstrous recruiting classes (2nd to only Alabama) kick in. Still, even though the talent on this year's Buckeye team is tremendous, much of it is still unproven talent and usually takes time to develop. I don't want to make any predictions about the final standings but it should be a very interesting year in the BIG East.

I guess you have us losing to either New Mexico or Howard if you have us with two out of conference loses. Doesn't seem like you think we're going to be any good, but have us beating 3 B1G teams. Your prediction makes little sense in RU's case. Sorry but if we can't beat Howard or New Mexico we sure as hell don't have a shot at winning three B1G games. You posted a prediction about RU on an RU message board, you might want to do a little research 1st, before you throw sh*t against the wall.

I really believe Rutgers will surprise a team or two this year. As a Buckeye, I hated to lose Ash but most of us knew it was just a matter of time. He just needs to put together a solid first season or two to make progress into the impressive NJ recruiting base. I know several OSU fans that want to see Rutgers and Ash do well - just not against the Buckeyes.
