I follow Rutgers and root for them when not playing UMD due to family. Anyways, we have guys committed to UMD, and when they take their officials elsewhere I am NEVER happy.

I'm not being a dick, what I'm saying is a lot can happen in a weekend. I would be worried, we won't be only one talking up our program while giving backhanded insults to RU. That's the game, and to let multiple people get a shot at a commit is dangerous.
Haha yeah I've seen you a million times here. Memes set me off. :uzi:

PSU, Mich St, Va Tech, and Ohio St have not made offers yet. if they offer this kid he will probably leave us.

It seems to me that if you want beat the schools quoted above, that you need to recruit the same type of players they do, and at the very least, sign your fair share.

Oh Really? You have been nothing but negative ever since Ash was hired because you wanted Al Golden.

...

If that does not move you, can I buy you a beer?
The initial offer didn't work. Maybe offer some hookers and blow?

3? Did I miss something? Taylor and Lovett, no? And if we land more than 21, which we will, I would be spot-on at 3; anyway it's just an estimate. Geeze man, it's like you want it, lol,

See all the recruits reopening their Choices by planning new visits in December.
Unfortunately your 1 in 7 prediction is not relative again to RU.
Pisses me off we are treated like a second rate program .

We sure have a lot of second rate fans, so, you get what you get.

Seriously though, do people ever consider that recruits might read threads that have their name as the title? This message board constantly undermines the program. The coaches must absolutely hate it.

We were constantly assured by at least one very vocal poster that what we say here has NO IMPACT on recruits. It was during the previous coach's error, when multiple posters were on a bashfest of said former coach. IMO, never a good idea to crap in your own bed, even if the bed is already full of crap. Our bed is now clean and pristine, and I agree that we should maintain a positive tone here.

The ever vocal "Right to Bitch" crowd. Which of course is utter nonsense. The venom spread around here shows that some of the people who are the biggest "fans" have a negative impression, which can never help anything...it can only do harm. No one will ever be sold on Rutgers by posters assuming every recruit will decommit. But those posters do plant seeds of doubt with anyone who sees their drivel.

I am more and more opposed to the everything goes lack of moderation here. This site does a lot to drive negative attitudes towards Rutgers. Some of which may be deserved, but a lot of which are just ridiculously over the top.

I don't mind people being negative - and it's hard to separate negativity and realism at times. But the ceaseless misery-spreading that a small group of people here do is pretty counter-productive.

I would think that's part of the culture change Ash would like to see. It gets better when the team is winning. Although not that much better.

In any event, I'm not a fan of over-moderation. Because it's a slippery slope. And ultimately, I think it would turn the board into an echo-chamber and kill it off.

I agree with your sentiment, but i don't think you need to have a heavy hand. Like you say, its a small group that are the problem. There are 4 guys just spreading constant negativity. They do it without facts, without knowledge or well thought out posts, and they do it over and over again on the same topics. How much does their traffic drive away those of us who like to be more positive?

People should always be allowed to make a point if they have a point to make. But constant negativity and railing on the program has no place. Moreover, there is a total lack of moderation with trolls from other sites that show up on recruit threads like this. Those posts wouldn't stay up for ten minutes on many other boards. Here I have to see troll posts basically encouraging recruits to go to other schools last for days. I don't mean to be critical, but it is certainly counterproductive toward what we (and the coaching staff) are trying to accomplish.

The reality is that Coach Ash and staff are going to be here for several years. Building some positivity around the program could help them get to the result they (and we) are trying to get to. Shitting all over the program every 2 seconds just so that you can vent and feel better is selfish, and does nothing for anyone but yourself.

We'll have to agree to, uh, agree. I could live with some quiet eliding of repeated negative posts.

I agree the mods should clean up the trolls who disguise themselves as RU fans. There are a number of these types who attempt to undermine morale and spread dissension. They often use handles like Rutgersbestestfan....or something to sow doubt of their intentions.

"all the recruits"? I see exactly 2.

Eliding, eh? Had to look that one up. I consider myself to have a strong vocabulary...I don't think I've ever even heard that word before. Now that's how you add value to a message board.

You mean, besides my constant hookers and blow references? lol

I may need to find a something new for 2017. Although I hate to disappoint my biggest fan: @OriginalKnight, so I might have to continue the H&B references AND add something new.

And the fans do not want us to utter one positive word about Penn State for fear that we will impact PSU positively and push our recruits to Penn State.

Ash knows exactly what he is doing. He took the early home visits to those that are solidly committed to Rutgers. He'll save the official visits and home visits to anyone that may be hearing from other schools. This way he gets the final or close to final home visit and brings several assistants with him.
THey have already visited Fogg at his home:

You are a second rate douchebag.
When you are non-Almuni who donates thousands to the program and follows the team on Road games then you can talk.

GFY. I couldn't care less whether you are an alum or not. If you think you are a "good" fan, you are clueless. All you do is rehash the same negative BS over and over and over again on here. #1 fan my ass.
