Sounds pretty Foggy based on the crystal ball.

I'd take all of my officials also if I was in the same position as these kids.

The one thing that would concern me as an RU fan in this instance is, there are no longer games being played, so it's not as if Fogg is just looking for trips and tickets to big games around the country. In no way am I suggesting he's a given to flip; that's just something that popped into my head considering these would be postseason visits.
Yeah. Um. The games are cool and everything but plenty of other reasons to go on an OV. Just saying.

Anyway, wasn't Fogg at the Michigan game? Clearly the fact he is still committed after that speaks a bit to how he feels about Ash and co.

I'd say, nationally, ONLY about 1 in 8 verbals don't stick so, yeah, you're wrong; a verbal is much closer to a commitment than it is to a "maybe."

1 - Look up the meaning of the word "sometimes," then get back to me.

2 - Nationally it may be 1 in 8. What has it been for RU ? Isn't that what we are discussing in this thread ? That's what we care about here. Am I wrong about that too ?

1) Semantics. It's the impression you were trying to put out there and it's wrong IMHO. Not the end of the world though.

2) Take the Flood debacle out of the equation and I'd venture to say maybe 1 in 7?

Knew it the minute I saw this 4 star from MD on our commit list. Didn't want to make a prediction and be seen as negative. 2-10 with 78-0, 58-0, 39-0 has consequences. We even got blown out by his mediocre at best "home town" school, MD.

Oh Really? You have been nothing but negative ever since Ash was hired because you wanted Al Golden.
So when did you see this 4 star from MD on our commit list? Before or after we went 2-10?
Why are you so angry? May I suggest some reading?

What's it going to take to get you on board? C'mon !!

If that does not move you, can I buy you a beer?

Take the last 4 years of RU FB recruiting out of the equation ? You cant be serious. That is exactly what Ash is dealing with right now, along with a 2-10 season and some truly ugly blowouts in conference.

If you choose to whistle past the graveyard of how the last 5 seasons affects this years recruiting class then go right ahead. But you may want to think again before telling those of us who are concerned about this years recruiting class that we are wrong to be a little worried.

First of all I'm not angry. Second I will get onboard when I see discernible improvement not talk about watering Chinese bamboo tree roots. To date i haven't seen much evidence that Ash is the guy. Been through rebuilding from scratch with Anderson, Graber, Shea, Schiano and now Ash. All of those failed with the possible exception of Schiano. It gets tiresome.

Al Golden [roll]

Every time I read it is as funny as the first time.

Well we already have had 3 so any more your 1 in 7 goes out the window.

3? Did I miss something? Taylor and Lovett, no? And if we land more than 21, which we will, I would be spot-on at 3; anyway it's just an estimate. Geeze man, it's like you want it, lol,

Fogg still has his OV with us set and Ash will most definitely be scheduling an in-home visit with him and his family. I know the staff has developed a solid relationship with not only him, but also his family.

However, the recruiters are still out in full force and given the season we just had, it will be easy for them to negatively recruit. You can't deny that. With that said: if Fogg was going to decommit he would have done it during the season.

Given the situations with Fogg and Lovett, we will soon find out how well Ash can sell his vision and close.

Ash knows exactly what he is doing. He took the early home visits to those that are solidly committed to Rutgers. He'll save the official visits and home visits to anyone that may be hearing from other schools. This way he gets the final or close to final home visit and brings several assistants with him.

Years ago I worked with a guy who was recruited by many of the top programs in the country. He knew where he wanted to go early on and that staff knew he was theirs.

This didn't stop him from taking visits to along with 2 others, Miami and UCLA. Why? Because it was a once in a lifetime chance to see places he'd never been or may never see otherwise on someone else's dime.

Not saying this is the reason Fogg or others do it but I'm guessing it may be why many do.

This one time this board is ever positive is one hour prior to the season starting

lol well put...maybe about 95% but that's as good as it gets! Remember, this is a place where people will bitch about where their Rose Bowl seats are located (let alone the price)!

Do you actually have some inside info or are you just being a tool?

Of course...put it this way, if you some kid committed to PSU was going to take all his officials and Rutgers was one of them, would this be good news for you?

I don't care about taking officials. We just hosted a kid committed to A&M that we have almost zero shot at landing. But the way you are acting its as if the flip is imminent and you decided to rub it in with memes. Its sorta dickish if you know its happening but I'll write it off as good spirited ribbing between rivals. But if you have no idea and you are doing this for the sole purpose of making this thread a dumpster fire well then that's the definition of being a troll.

I follow Rutgers and root for them when not playing UMD due to family. Anyways, we have guys committed to UMD, and when they take their officials elsewhere I am NEVER happy.

I'm not being a dick, what I'm saying is a lot can happen in a weekend. I would be worried, we won't be only one talking up our program while giving backhanded insults to RU. That's the game, and to let multiple people get a shot at a commit is dangerous.

Word on the street is that he had his high school reach out to coaches to continue to recruit him. TIFWIW.

it should be interesting. the kid is smart with an offer from Harvard and Army.

I would think Maryland may be the biggest rival since it is his home state. UNC and Pitt could be true competitors too since he is a student and they are good schools.

PSU, Mich St, Va Tech, and Ohio St have not made offers yet. if they offer this kid he will probably leave us.
