UMass-Lowell

They return about 85% of their minutes and scoring from the 21-22 team but don't have a lot of size. Last year, they won at Dayton by 1, lost by 11 @UMass, lost by 11pts home to Vermont and 1pt @Vermont, worst loss was N vs Oklahoma St by 22. Most of their team is a year old-er* 😝 now.

This is definitely not a tomato can opponent. They can score, and they have a decent big in Abdoul Karim Coulibaly (who I believe Pike had been recruiting a few years ago).

Suspect this will be more like a 75-61 type of game, but our guys better be focused, as this is our third game in six days.

why would you pass up going to a live event for a tv football game given the footballs less than mediocre product...this one is a no brainer
There are only 12 football games per year vs. 31 hoops games and this is a huge game for football, whereas we should win comfortably against UMass-Lowell, plus I can watch both games on TV, live, at home, which I can't do at the RAC. Plus, within our group, I wasn't going to get every home game (I got 15 of 19, so this was a no-brainer for me to give up, since there was a potential conflict when I had to make that decision).

They are too small to hang with Rutgers

Watching live vs. recording on a DVR doesn't help. Being at the RAC helps.

This may not be easy. They beat Columbia badly like us.

Is it really a huge game?

What UMass-Lowell did against Columbia has very little to do with our game against them.

Same thought process. Football will have most of my attention as long as it’s competitive.

Results from last year, veteran team. No one is saying that they are the Showtime Lakers but it will likely be a step up in competition. No need to be dismissive, Mr. Nuts.

For football fans, yes. Win this and bowl hopes are still alive and I actually think we can win this one, plus MSU is a much more attractive opponent than UM-Lowell. If it were Wagner in football vs. Maryland in hoops, I'd be going with hoops.

Not being dismissive. Simply saying that results vs the same team have little to do with a future game between opponents.

Still very annoyed this game was scheduled to overlap with the 2nd half of the football game. I can't believe we couldn't have played this game 2 hours later to avoid that conflict, which is keeping me from going to the hoops game.
Tell Hobbs

Did not know that and thanks
I believe this changes once the new TV deal starts and there will always be one eastern time zone night game, which if it's a USC or UCLA home game will be an afternoon game local time.

Despite our offensive offense, this is still a really big game for football. If we can pull off the upset, bowl hopes are alive

I also think most fans want to beat Mel Tucker bc of him stealing the keep chopping mantra like a complete 🤡
