i haven’t checked the box score, but watched the game on tv.

It was great to see a slight increase in good plays and scoring by some of our bigs.

Tip in by Duke
Sa driving and showing patience and getting baby hook to go
Shaq knocking down 2 FTs
Shaq on the roll to the hole and throw down off the great dish by Corey
etc.

We almost never get good inside play.
As the announcer said, when a guy averaging < 2 gets 4 or 6 points in a game, that is huge.

It has been so long since we had good inside play (Gettys was decent).

Hoping these guys keep working hard with the coaches (I’m sure they are), and continue to improve and play with confidence.
We NEED them!

(Eventually hoping to get studs inside, but please don’t criticize these guys by comparing them to top shelf B1G bigs.
We need to work with what we have, and maximize their potential!)

Great points.

Doorson backed his defender up with ease. Maybe get it to him more, and see what happens? In general, good stuff from Doorson.

Sa looks less confident there, but he had his contributions

They should be looked at going forward. Teams are obviously scouting Baker and Sanders the hardest. They will live with the reckless play of Freeman, and want that

We got 14 points from the cener position last night (Doorson 6, Sa 4 & Doucoure 4). That was very positive for a change. That would be great to get that much every game.

More impressive to me than Shaq’s post up basket was the tough catch and then dunk from Corey’s feed in the first half. Kid’s had a rough go of it physically and it’s good to see that he’s making it back.

Absolutely. That was great. Maybe the team should focus more on in and out passing, and go from there. Shaq is not going to have the matchup he did last night every game. Far from it. He made last night look simple on his attempts.

on 6 of 9 shooting (67%) when the total team shot like 33%. It was working against a team with limited front court yet we stopped going for it and went wild and one on one....a coaching miss in my opinion. Their guy a had 4 fouls with 5 mins to play and we didn't even try and get him out of there. SMH...this was a game I thought we could even play 2 of them at once for a bit...and it opens up the outside for those short jumpers. Oh well.

Agree that we had a nice night from the bigs - could have been even better as our guards did not pass to the bigs on many a pick and roll.

Should have gone down low repeatedly until they were stopped. Coaching on the offensive side of the ball was head scratching.

Duke hit a nice jumpshot from slightly behind the foul line as well. I agree they all had their moments offensively. On D on thought Sa got abused a bit on rebound opportunities.

Exactly. Then they proceeded to get eaten up by the long and lanky bigs of Nebraska.

Our bigs were having decent success down low and the outside shot was not falling for Thiam and the rest. 33% from the floor. 17% from three point land. Those are very bad numbers. Should have passed to the big dudes in the low post more. They collectively had fair numbers, but could/should have been more.
