You should be able to lose your starting 5 and still be ahead of the schools in he 275-325 neighborhood.

Let's see...we have a ton of injuries and you are Eddie Jordan....

Should you....
A. slow the tempo and be patient on offense and shorten the game
B. Lead the B1G in tempo by far and lengthen the game. Encourage shots early in the shot clock and fastbreak off opponents makes

Let's give B a try...it worked with Gilbert Arenas

I never thought I would see another coach challenge the futility of the Littlepage era. He's done that and then some. If this school let's him coach one more year, I believe he can truly set a standard that may never be duplicated at Rutgers again. But then again, I should have learned to never say never.

I agree with this.
Unless we can get a quick drive to the basket (our best play), don't try to speed up the game. It makes NO SENSE with out current roster situation.

One at typified this.
With probably 20-25 seconds still on shot clock, Williams makes a quick dribble to top of key and takes an uncontested quick shot (which he missed of course). It pissed me off.
You can get that shot at any time!
Make the other team play some D, and exert some energy.
Then shoot.

Similar point - why do we press so much with a limited roster?
It just gets you tired, and even though we had a few steals, it usually leads to easy baskets by the other team.

you mean you didn't like watching those repeated stuffs by Minnnesota as we valiantly ran the break and attacked the hoop

EJ does have 2 more wins than Kyle Flood this year. And with Minnesota coming in, it might even be 3.

Another metric that shows this program has been totally ignored for decades and now has reached such a level where ridicule is the result after every game.

At 61-48 I just turned it off. I have missed the past 2 home games. I now TiVO games so I only waste 45 minutes of time.

The 1st 10 minutes of most games we play smart and disciplined and then we stop.

The Horror - we trail all 8 Ivy League schools - the biggest state university in the NY/NJ/PA area
That is hard to do

Monmouth beat ND

ND beat Iowa

Does that mean that Monmouth would be in 1st Place in the Big Ten ?

At 306, we've now dropped below Robert Morris (305) to be the 4th lowest ranked program in the NJ/NY/PA area. Still ahead of 321 Niagara, 325 Lafayette, and 326 Binghamton.

I was against Jordan's hire from day one. I understood why the Home News Tribune/Asbury Park Press did not mention his career record of wins and losses in there opening article about his hiring. This was a ridiculous hire from Day One.

I try to find a bright side no matter how bad a RU program is.
What I found good about this season:
It might force the leadership of Rutgers University to tell their AD to spend what it takes to get a HC that can make the MBB program respectable .

Quality candidates will not be ruled out because of salary and the next RU MBB won't be an on the cheap hire.

We're probably ranked behind the NJ Special Olympics Team too. Glad they are not on the schedule. They'd win by 20.

(no insult intended to the SO team,,it could be 25)

He was a panic hire, just like Flood.

It's not Eddie...it's the facilities!!!

We should extend eddie another 3 years now!!

It wasn't a pathetic hire, it was best available willing to come here for peanuts and no support. The AD's hands were somewhat tied at the time.

Our President finally worke up and decided to give athletics some attention and support. That will give us more options this time around if or when Eddie is let go.

If I remember correctly, there was no AD at the time of EJ's hiring. So that's definitely a panic hire in my book. Also Hurley was available for two extra years. That would have been a much better decision and we screwed it up, just like we always do.

To be ranked worse than so many teams in NJ/NY is a glaring admission that Rutgers mens basketball has no relevance in college basketball,no one cares and this nightmare will probably continue for another 3-5 years.

Hurley overplayed his hand , Rutgers panicked and hired someone that they could count on to bring in good PR.

But RU even messed up the good PR they thought they'd be getting because of the diploma flap , when RU posted Eddie received his degree from Rutgers when they posted his bio on ScarletKnights.com.
Jordan never claimed to have it, but it was put in there as a fact.
When the media got hold of that mistake, more bashing and less good PR because of the hire.
