We just beat 8 guys

I don’t like to criticize refs but Whatta joke this game was from the zebras

First half differential in fouls was a travesty and some of the calls in the 2nd half were quite questionable including the call on Mulcahy with about a minute plus to go

Paul Szelc really pissing me off and Larry Scirotto once again involved as he reffed the Ohio State game.

Regardless we won and Whatta game it was !

I am thrilled beyond belief that we won. I think we got the short end on total fouls but we were more aggressive and deserved the win. I am so proud of our guys and our staff. The fouls were 13-5 in the first half. Many calls I thought were correct but the last one on Caleb was a joke and two on Cam it seems that he had all ball on the replays. There was at least one that I think we got a break on but if Purdue fans are complaining they must be real whiners. GO RU,

The constant complaining about the refs is ridiculous. We fouled a ton and they let a lot of our fouls go as well. When you play defense the way this team does, you're going to foul.
So our aggressive defensive draws not one charge or travel in a 40 minute game…c’mon

Exactly. The fouls shouldn't be exactly even but it shouldn't be sooo one sided

People with eyeballs could see the difference - our guys paul, Hyatt or Caleb would drive or post up and get bodied-up or hit and get no fouls. Other side of the court - foul on RU. Happened REPEATEDLY.

Sure we probably fouled more but no way the difference should have been that much

Stop blaming our aggressive defense for fouls. We are 3rd in country in D per Kenpom and Purdue is 5th. Yet they had 13 lees foul calls and almost 20!! More free throws.

Refs weren’t good but RU got a few fortunate calls too
The first one against Edey right at the start of the game really could have gone either way, and that was pretty key in getting him in early foul trouble. Ended up being a pretty huge call that went our way.

You want another example - the charge on Cam: defender was not set - he stuck out his hip.
RU was called for touch fouls on drives, but we get bodied in the lane and it's nothing. Stop with this crap - it's sooo obvious that refs still don't respect us.

disagree with "either way"

was a terrible call, wasn't even close to a foul

you guys gotta take off scarlet glasses sometimes

I’ll keep my glasses on but thanks for the suggestion.

There were definitely some questionable calls, but at this point we have a reputation for being very physical and that is probably in the back of the refs minds. We do slap and reach a lot on defense, and a lot of those fouls go uncalled. It reminds me a little of what one Philly OLineman once said about playing Lawrence Taylor - “we hold him on every play, at worst it will be called 3 or 4 times”.

Edey was also camped out in the lane at times and not one 3 second call.

Here are a few that were bad:
McConnell’s 4th foul
Spencer’s offensive foul
simpson’s chin fouling Purdues guard’s elbow

Add the non-calls for Purdue playing the same aggressive defense, Edey getting away with over the back in multiple occasions, and it was obvious the refs were not calling the game consistently.

A good part of their offense was getting the ball down low to Edey or, if that didn't work. swing it around for Loyer. They were going the ball movement route & even made a nice pass to their coach! It's a matter of less driving and dribbling . . . less chance of causing contact or making a traveling violation. Have to think their lack of sloppiness helped them get to that #1 ranking. As for some Rutgers players, repeat after me: "I will not put my arm or shoulder into my defender".
