Generates no o, funble, pick, no threat downfield, history of downing a ball to end a game, tumultuous with discipline and fans/alums- but stays in when games are out of reach with no one else getting a real shot to establish themselves.

What goes on when he wears the green shirt? What is the hiold he has w coaches? For someone who doesnt watch practice but watches only the game performance it is more than a headscratcher.

Couldn't agree more. Must be a perfect practice QB.

Absolutely ridiculous that not one QB got a snap in a massive blowout, in which our starter played so poorly.

I will lose it if he comes out and blames the poor play on facing an amazing defense like UW.

The backups can't be that bad, can they?

Voodoo [devil]
He is the best QB in practice so he starts. The staff does not believe in the live game blooming of the 2nd best QB. Still, it would be nice to give it a chance when you are going to lose anyway. Miracles happen.

Simple: do you think the current MSU coach, Butch Jones, Brian Kelly, Saban, Meyer, Hardball etc. would have allowed Nova to throw SEVEN INTS. ..
or Laviano to continue fumbling / then throw an Int.?

Where was he mobility? A running QB? Maybe Oden would be the best solution....and let the "W's" take care of themselves ....as long as we're married to the new "O".

NEXT!

The answer doesn't seem to be Laviano- he's more of the enigmatic question.

IMO any change @ QB would have be an improvement.
Even if Allen, Gio or Rettig didn't accomplish anything...NEITHER DID LAVIANO.

And by sitting Laviano he gets a message: produce or sit- no job is safe!

I honestly think Coach stuck with laviano because of the opponent. he knew it would be a tough first game so stick with the most experienced qb out of the bunch, start someone new for next two games in prep for iowa

I think Latvian saw his last day in any meaningful game
Get them Latvians outta here! j/k Man I hope so...can't take anymore Laviano at this point. He has not shown any progress since he became the starting QB.

I lot of idiocy in this thread. Bad loss brings out the worst in some folks. Would not want to be in a fire fight with any of you guys. You wilt at the first sign of trouble.

I turned on the pregame show on wCTC AM and that was the questioned
asked of the coach. Because I turned it on in the middle of the
interview the only name I heard was Hey coach, but I think it was
the OC. This is the answer he gave " I got to know Chris very very
closely and I truly loved him and he got to love me equally like
father and son. He is a great kid and I straightened him out
with his off the field problems, and I saw a new man. And our love just grew,
there was no mentioned of his arm, the fumbles, or any football at
all.

Knight shift- why dont you start another 30 new threads today like every day- that seems to qualify you to have your opinions and shout down others- stay wedded to the one qb Your perogative but dint think others will play along

the first sign of trouble with CL at the QB spot was two years ago. not today. we just happen to get weekly reminders.

It was well worth trying something different. Of that's right. We don't do that at Rutgers.

Loss or not, Blowout or not. What I saw today was just more of the same play at the QB spot (and I only watched a half). Scared and an inability to make plays. Complete lack of any consistency other than consistently inconsistent.

Clearly it was not on CL alone. NOT EVEN CLOSE. But his play took all the positive vibe I had gathered about him and dumped it. IF this is it then we clearly have NO QB on this team AGAIN. Get the fridge back here fast.

Muller played poorly. Not sure I've ever seen a redshirt senior get manhandled, like I saw today. Especially at Right Guard, the easiest position on the O-line.

Muller does everything right except play well in games.

If the RG is getting mauled every play, it's hard to get quality QB play.

Sc and alabama each used 2 qbs today.

New article says cl still has coaches utmost confidence- wtf?

Coach- dont burn all the good will on this one issue- be true to your competition mantra!
