I've seen BK mention it in one thread, and obviously VV's tweet referenced some shady business going on with JA's recruitment with G-tech? Any one care to shed some light on what they think? Money man? Job for family member? Both?

Never get mad at a kid when he makes a big life decision. Life's confusing & there's things going on in their heads you'll never understand.

VV better be careful who knows what skeletons are in his closet. My suggestion shut up move onto next player lest your competitors start tweeting about you.

VV isn't saying anything wrong. If Pastner wants a recruit, he pulls out the whole bag of tricks. GT knew what they were getting when they hired him.

Mich said it himself that Alvarado is a very loyal kid. RU and even SHU have been after this kid for a while and showed him lots of love. Alvarado raved about us last week. Then GT swoops in at the last minute relatively speaking and he picks them. You do the math.

And if you think his OV to Atlanta and the facilities, you are fooling yourself.

Before you tell someone to shut up, you should realize that it is his son. Shoes hasn't said anything.

Yeah great job getting us to the tournament, oh wait, the NIT, oh wait, the CBI, oh wait, the CIT, oh wait, .500 oh wait, not being a national joke in basketball, oh wait ....

He needs to shut up do his job and win some games because so far the results suck.

Tech didn't swoop in the last minute. The relationship between Alvarado and Pastner/Tech was very strong back in June.

For whatever reasons some people discounted GT and that puzzled me, based on what I was hearing.

Please don't misquote me. I said "last minute relatively speaking", meaning relative to when Rutgers (several months before GT) and Seton Hall (a year before GT) got involved. Thanks.

There are so many ways around the old school blue chips style of recruiting that the NCAA can't police. Not saying anything shady happened here, but it still happens, and a disciple of the calipari coaching tree, it definitely happens

GT isn't new to sanctions. To claim they have been above board and basketball recruiting is some pristine business is head in cloud stuff.

GT hired Pastner who was at Memphis during their issues and a Calipari protege who is dirty the minute he walks out of the shower. Let's just move on with the understanding of the landscape and cesspool we are swimming in.

My bad.

Well Pastner was hired at GT almost a month after Pikiell was hired at Rutgers so not too surprising that Alvarado's recruitment by GT started after his recruitment by Rutgers and Seton Hall. Alvarado raved about GT and Atlanta.

But by June things were heating up between Alvarado and GT. The offer came in July, the official visit a month later, Pastner visited him September 9 just like Pikiell did and then yesterday's commitment.

Things moved fast but, the outcome is not too surprising based on what I have heard today. Besides you don't use a bag of tricks on a kid that you don't think is a surefire all-conference first-team type of prospect.

Also people should not discount three letters here, A-C-C. To some kids that is a huge deal. I talk to kids with Clemson offers and when they talk about the school they throw in "plus it's the ACC."

At the very least by the way they recruited Alvarado this could open doors for Rutgers with the New York Rens and CTK and payoff down the road.

The ACC having its 2017 Tourney in Brooklyn probably wasn't a deciding factor, but bet it helped Pastner sell GT.
Also I think Barclays is hosting that tourney again in 2018.
