In a normal season it wouldn’t matter as much. But there is a chance - a good chance (won’t quantify it) that we actually miss the tourney this year with two lottery picks on the team. And that’s inexcusable.

You absolutely can blame Pike for the weak supporting cast. His job to find guys that can compete at a P4 level and fit his scheme. Plenty of them out there at lower levels / low NIL costs — just a matter of properly identifying and then pursuing
Ace, Dylan and Martini are all north of 70% FT shooters, but were 5-16 vs. the 11-16 they'd be at 70% and FT shooting in one game has zero to do with coaching. That's 6 points right there that likely would've made this a much more comfortable 7-10 point win.
Derkack is decent. Acuff is obviously still affected by his injury. It’s very hard to mesh 10 new players with 3 returning. Look at Woodson and all his talent and way under performing as an example. It’s also a rivalry game so records mean nothing. When will some board posters get it that some fans are miserable and clueless and would never say any of what they do face to face.

Just depends what someones hope for the program is. Basketball is unique because due to the fact its not physics like football, upsets are far more common and far easier for cinderella to go on a run in ncaa bball than it is in fbs football.
