are gone.

Wondering about marginal players: Goode / Diallo. Any upside...chance for improvement?

Will Freeman be able to play? Is he academically eligible (this is just a guess.....why was he suspended?)?

Can Doorson come back / play? What do we get with a healthy Shaq: Offensively / Defensively?

And then there's the elephant in the room: Corey.

Hoping he stays, straightens out whatever lead to his suspension / leads the team both statistically / emotionally.

How many ships do we have to hand out? Is there a limit (or can you fill er up to 13)?

Thanks

This sound harsh, but I don't care much. The important thing that needs to happen is we get the right coach. If we do, things will finally, finally turn. If we don't, it's another nightmare of many more years. Whether a couple of players return, unreliable ones at that, reaches the level of insignificance when you think of it this way.

I think this is a total gut job. If we lost everyone would it really matter. The new coach has to be a program builder and this will take time.

We have to field a team, so yes, it does. Theoretically if we lost any one of Diallo, Freeman or Doorson we wouldn't be any worse -- we were playing with 1/2 a big man most of the year. Goode didn't produce, so if he left or his scholarship wasn't renewed, it wouldn't be that great a loss. But we can't just lose them all.

Losing Sanders would be a problem, but you hope that your new coach can recruit comparable talent. He's indicating that he'll stay.

As far as the recruiting class go, they most likely wouldn't leave (we are their best offer regardless of who is coaching) but the coach may choose to not honor the scholarship. Mostly they weren't going to contribute next year anyway.

Thiam would be a contributor right away. Now I would be surprised to see St. Johns swoop in since it was between us and them.

We have no idea what type of system and players are required with the new coach.

4s and 5s might have to be shooters

Mo, the questions you raise would be applicable even if Eddie wasn't fired.

Bigger day for Rutgers....and our fans.

I hope EJ lands on his feet (he's a gentleman)....maybe somewhere in fund raising, Admin. That might help keep Corey.

Where do we go from here? Have we hit rock bottom?

This would seem obvious to me even if we had significant talent on the existing team. It seems crushingly obvious given we had enough talent to get exactly one single conference win.
