Why wasn’t this done in 2015

Because on 2015 Greg thought he could be a head coach somewhere again that wasn’t named Rutgers. The Tennessee situation changed that.
So, here's where I come in with why I was mostly against this Schiano dance.
In 2015 I helped out with TOS during the coaching search. We received a tip from a source that was as close to Greg as you could get without it being Greg that he was taking the job. Being a young site and wanting subs, we ran with the story. Then it quickly came out that he wasn't taking the job and wasn't even considering it.
We pressed the source on it, and he eventually told us that Greg was telling people in his camp to float out basically bogus stories to sites to help him 'look pretty' for Miami and that he had zero interest in Rutgers.
So when it came out he had interest this time around but it was also obvious that FSU was gonna be open along with what he was asking for.....yeah I was skeptical.
