Sounds like Simpson's suspension is possibly open-ended, as per this quote from Howard:
"We have to further look at this thing deeper and deeper and see what we're going to do moving forward," he said. Asked for clarification on the duration of Simpson's suspension, Howard said, "After the Nebraska game we will reevaluate it and see. As of right now, he will not be with us tomorrow."
And Livers looks to be questionable with some confusion on whether he has a new injury or simply reinjured the groin that kept him out for a month or so (see the part in bold). While I'd prefer to beat a full-strength UM, I won't cry if they're missing 1-2 of their best guys.
This is problematic for a team already without Livers, who returned on Saturday after a month-long absence only to get hurt again. There was uncertainty over Livers’ exact injury. Many speculated it was his left groin, again, but a team spokesperson said that was not the case, that it was more of a hip issue. A quote from Livers, in a story posted to Michigan’s official athletics website, saying it was the “same injury” was removed after it was published. (Add that to the list of issues for this program right now.)
“Day to day,” Howard said on Monday when asked if Livers would play against Nebraska. “That’s all I can tell you. He’s getting better.” He gave a similar response when asked about the nature of the injury.
