Word On The Street Duke Making Strong Push For D. Harper!! Lots Of Cash!!

Wouldn’t it be funny if the only reason we lost Dylan was because of NIL.
History will say because of Dylan’s family history with Rutgers they were a lock to get his commitment. just when Rutgers was about to return to 76 form,
NIL came along.
Because Rutgers was just good enough to have a player Just influential enough,
The NIL movement gained steam at Rutgers and eventually killed any hope to return to the glory of 76.
If something grows inside you, that eventually kills you, I believe there is a name for that.
I hope this is not the case.

Does Ace commit to us in a world with no NIL? Or the transfer point? I have no idea just bringing up the obvious counterpoint.

Ace had NIL options at other schools so I don't get this argument. I don't Kentucky or Auburn would have trouble finding the money.

Time will tell, If Rutgers can compete in the new NIL landscape.
I am hoping for the best.

I tend to think that Ace liked our program the best at the time of committing

Sure the NIL becomes a factor even after committing just to hang onto him

But "pre NIL", Rutgers would have presumably been offering no money.

While the other more "leniant" schools would have been offering probably close to their current NIL offers (under the table).

We wouldn't even be at the table if we were offering zero NIL.

If this is the reason then why haven't previous elite players who ran with AOT come to Rutgers?
I'm not saying it's the sole reason, the last 3-4 years of coaching style and winning helped, the recruits have to make the decision where they want to go. It seems like they both wanted to go to the same school which most top schools, outside of Auburn, weren't offering Jamichael. His son, Sharife, who is in the NBA G League team for Cleveland Cavs, went to Midnight Madness in Brandon Knight's first year here in 2016 ultimate chose Auburn, I think he was a 5⭐ in 2020. It was hard to recruit him after 15-18, 15-19, 14-17 between 2016-19.

Dylan and his family don’t seem to be the type of people to simply take the highest bidder. 1) They don’t need it
2) His best friend is coming
3) He knows he will be much more welcomed and needed here than Dookie. Can be an absolutely legendary figure in Rutgers sports history, more so than Dookie. He knows that
4) His brother.. even if it’s just a little bit influential

I think he comes here. 🙏🏻🤷🏻‍♂️

Isn’t his dad pushing Duke?

Why are you avoiding a big reason Ace is coming?

It is okay to say it. It's not cheating anymore. RU is playing the game. That's a good thing. Let out a loud "YEAH! LET'S GO!"

Oh I know, but the family connection is what opened the door for this to happen, the 💰💰💰 help. If Rutgers gets to an Elite 8, Final Four, or as Ace puts it "winning a Natty at Rutgers", it would put Brandin Knight at the front of the line for head coaching gigs which is the endgame for this 2024 class.

Coach k. Very involved with helping recruiting Harper. They want him bad. Hope Pike can hold on and get creative with him and Ace!!! If we lose Harper we are at serious risk of going back far down in the Big10.
You must think this is "breaking news". None of what you posted between the thread title or in your OP is new other than your faux paranoia of RU's prospects if they don't land him. Move on troll.

Rutgers remembers Duke and J. Williams…now that was a total scumbag deal by Mikey K. Hope this doesn’t become a instant replay from back then.

Not miserable. Just cynical about recent developments in college basketball.
Gotta stay positive ! We currently have a kid who could legit be the #1 in the class already committed. He couldn't be more pro RU on social media.
