i would. Can't coach for s but will keep nj talent home. Top 15 classes built on NJ talent alone is enough for 3-0 OOC & 5-4 in conference with an outside shot of going 10-2 every couple years.

That's Butch Davis. Jones is the former Cincy coach who was a GA here under Graber.
I don't care for him as a coach and didn't think he proved enough after Kelly at his last two stops.
Forgetting that though, you realize there were allegations of him hitting a player on the practice field right? Tenn said they investigated and found nothing and Jones called the allegations crazy but the player himself and his father never really said he didn't. Only gave beat around the bush answers like I'm glad to be a VOL and want all Vols to unite etc.. and they didn't want to comment on media speculation. Very easily could have said it never happened but they didn't. Also a couple days ago a former Cincy kicker tweeted that it happened at Cincy too. He has since taken his twitter private. All it takes is other players to confirm and the can of worms can be opened again, I don't think we need that given our history.

I rather have a coach who can coach and recruit mildly well. You turn in consistent 8-4/9-3 seasons and win say 3 of every 4 bowl games, the recruits will come. Hire a guy like Barthel and let him handle big recruiting duties. Bring in a guy who can coach and will deliver us a surprise win or two each year and won't let us get blown off the field against good teams. We can still manage top 30-35 classes with average recruiter at HC and being in the B1G. Look at a team like USC. All the talent in the world but a guy who can't coach. Easy choice for me IMO
