The NCO is this Saturday March 5th in Geneva OH, this is a tournament for mostly Redshirts but is not limited to just redshirts. Looks like as of Sunday February 28th Rutgers has 5 wrestlers registered. I hope some more register before the deadline of Wednesday. The numbers for the tournament are down which could be for a number of reasons, 1. Tournament now same weekend as conference championships, 2. Tournament moved from Virginia to Ohio and 3. Major issues last year, weather related but left bad taste with many.

Here are the RU Wrestlers registered.

133 - Peter Lipari
133 - Sam Cali
149 - William Povolac
197 - Kyle Kremiller
285 - Marc McDonald

Perfect place for Theo to start his journey to 165.

I have no inside information, but I do not think there is any chance of Theo at 165. He is coming back to wrestle at 149. I do not think that they are going to fill in 165 just to build a better dual meet team.

Maybe there is an outside chance you see Theo move to 157 and Lewis redshirt if they really want to get rid of the log jam, but I think it is more likely Giraldo is a back up next year.

It's looking like it was a mistake to redshirt Theo.

Why? He doesn't deserve a year to develop his skills to make a run at NCAA's next year? And if Giraldo or Dippery beat him for the spot next year, then isn't that a good thing? Because that would mean we have an even stronger wrestler at 149!!!! Yes I wish we had a spot for everyone...But this is D1 B1G wrestling!!

You get what you earn. Btw, Roster management is why Goodale gets the big bucks.

My guess. I think Theo can be an AA at 149 so if they decide that is where he goes Richie stays at 157. He has the upper body to handle 165 but has to get bigger in his legs. Let's get through this weekend before worrying about next year.
