please educate yourself on the facts and then come back..

Is anyone surprised another person was arrested? Initial reports talked about 3 people committing the armed robberies, but only two arrests were made. One of the two must have given up the 3rd.

I assume this is a poor troll thread, considering Iowa is among the leaders in CFB arrests.

Don't you get it. These were good boys doing community service by robbing degenerates of their money and drugs. Just before they were caught, they were on their way to donate the marijuana to a dispensary to help people with glaucoma. Further, the money was going to be donated to a local children's charity. In fact, these boys were spending so much time being charitable that they had to quit the football team. [/sarc]

One of the best responses ever.

I am still trying to figure out what Iowa brings to the B1G other than wrestling, which is a dying sport. At some point I think the conference officials need to rethink why we need schools located in the middle of a cornfield in the conference. Tradition is nice, but I would take FSU or Virgina over Iowa in a heart beat, those are schools that could generate additional revenue.

You have been a member for less than a year and are calling out a life time member you are an embarrassment.

I must say that the OP was being a tool but this is silly. One of RU's only up and coming sports right now is Wrestling so I certainly don't hope that it goes and dies on us. We've been in the conference for like 12 months and are now trying to tell the BIG who should be in and out. Thanks I'll just enjoy my seat at the table and not try to tell others it's time to go.

It is a fast moving world my friend, in with the new and out with the old. Sometimes things become obsolete and you have to reevaluate their worth. When you joined it was a different world, you bring nothing to the table in regards to TV $s, while FSU and Virginia would bring huge markets. Time to rethink and retool.

If you are not bringing in marginal characters, you don't want to win football games.

I definitely would not take FSU over Iowa (not that we have a choice--we are the newcomers to the table). As far as Virginia being a new member, I'd be cool with that.

As far as wrestling being a dying sport, Dear God, we are finally getting good at something and you want to call it a dying sport? We need nice things around here, and wrestling is becoming one of them. We are ranked, BTW.

People have been doing this for many decades. You do know we're located in Jersey, right? Our own media makes shit up to deride us about, so boys in the SEC, who have ten of the top 25 teams in terms of numbers of arrests in the past five years (Rutgers didn't make the list), can say what they want and it's just plain innorance.

Yes, the last word was spelled that way purposely.

Well, there is the whole Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue and Wisky thing. I guess the fact that Iowa joined the B1G in 1899 should also be considered. Maybe Rutgers should have joined the ACC instead of the B1G if you wanted UVA and FSU.

Pretty ignorant post on your part IMO.

Sad.

he's posted here before, he's not a bad guy. He's right though, it is embarrassing.

If you are easily embarrassed for things beyond your control it could potentially mean a very unhappy life. In sticking with the point of this thread - two current players and one former player associated with the RU football program were arrested for this incident. The current players were almost immediately kicked off the team after their arrests.

Further, the Hawk troll who started this thread is obviously not only coming here to start trouble but also too stupid to do his own research as he did not even realize that this incident was only 2 RU players and not the 6 claimed by the media nor his own school's Football Program recent arrest troubles over the past 5 years which include sexual assault.

The point is that Football is a brutal, aggressive game that attracts brutal and aggressive people to play it - a small percentage of whom carry that aggression into other parts of their lives. I'm actually proud of RU that it quickly did the right thing and jettisoned these players as well as the others involved in the fight instead of trying to play dumb and protect the program's own interests further. How you deal with adverse things that happen sets a precedent for future behaviors.

What's really ignorant is thinking that coming over to another board and creating a thread like this would lead to rainbow and sunshine responses.

I don't mind the OP...not sure if being a real jerk or just trying to have some fun. Give me a chance to practice creative thinking , exercise my brain, and have some fun. Guess since he/she didn't send a little signal it was in jest they were really just being a dick (I'll assume a guy here).

We may not have always been the best team, but I always took pride that we were clean for the most part - this one hurt.
