THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-NEBRASKA PREDICTION THREAD

As posted in an other thread, I think RU either wins a close game or loses by double digits.

As also posted: If RU is playing well enough to win, I think they WILL win. But if RU is not playing well enough to win I think Nebraska wins going away, by double digits ... maybe up double digits much of the game.
I think it’s also possible we fall just short like we have in several other games this year. I would put the odds like this:

- Rutgers loses by 20+ points — 10%
- Rutgers loses by 10-19 points — 35%
- Rutgers loses by 1-9 points — 40%
- Rutgers wins by 1-5 points — 10%
- Rutgers wins by 6-9 points — 4%
- Rutgers wins by 10+ points — 1%

Derkack needs to get benched

but it DOES keep them honest. we have seen this all season long.

because he DOES shoot the occasional open 3 his defenders DONT LAY BACK - they PLAY UP ON HIM. he then pump fakes them and drives and ROUTINELY gets fouled on his drives - these LANES OPEN UP because he is a threat to shoot. He has been doing this, effectively, all season long.

If he stopped shooting open 3s all together then the defender would know to just lay back, clogging the driving lanes.

we all wish he would shoot a better % but passing up open 3s all together would NOT be good basketball.

Ok so then the question is taking these 3s which have a 0.33 point per possession a good shot because it leads to other higher quality shots (pump fake, leading to driving to the lane)?

This is data vs top 100 opponents:

His 2pt % is 41.7%

41.7% x 2 pts x 1.3 (OR rate) x 0.7 (doesn’t get fouled 70% of the time) = 0.75

72% (free throw %) x 2 shots x 0.3 (30% of the time gets foulded = 0.432

(0.75 + 0.432) x 0.8 (JDs TO rate is 20%) = 0.95.

So the payoff for taking the 0.33 shot once in a while, is to generate a shot that leads to 0.95 points per possession. Rutgers is at 1.11 points per possession.

It’s clearly better shot for him than shooting a 3, with the expected value almost triple! But it’s still below the Rutgers average. That is why in my view, it’s addition by subtraction having his minutes go to Grant etc if this is how he’s going to play. If he chooses to really go all out on D and defer on offense, I can see him adding value.

OT: oh oh oh Ozempic !

On the flip side, if you want your kid to skip vaccines required for school attendance by states across the country, you can home school them. Or, I guess, have them start in second or third grade after your 0-6 designation runs out.

Schools are enough of a petri dish with illnesses for which there are no vaccines.

Also, a bunch of those aren't even required in NJ.
But they are recommended and pushed. You concerned your kid will get Hep B in pre k?

Dortch

By doing so, you've moved the goal posts in order to support your nonsense recommendation (throwing in Dorch for the hell of it)....as it makes no sense without any indication of how he plays or how ready he might be.

To paraphrase your prediction......

Prior to the game.....Rutgers sucks and will get killed by UCLA

After the game......Rutgers sucks and the win doesn't matter because UCLA sucks.

Bottom line is that the win does matter. Dylan played more meaningful minutes since his bout with illness, and the team showed life.

OT: Bob Uecker has passed sway at the age of 90

A baseball legend just passed away, not because of the way he played the game, but the humor that came with the way he described his baseball talent.
RIP Bob Uecker

Mawot Mag

Is averaging 12 minutes per game at BYU this season. 4pts and 1 rebound.

Just like Mulcahy, this transfer has been a disaster for both the the kid and Rutgers.

This team would love a Mag type player.
Mag and player are two different things. We do not need his (late career) type..

Paul's leaving after 4 years and what he gave should never be compared to Mag.
No it didn't work out ..I agree but not the same thing at all.

Derkack needs to get benched

There is no reason for a guard like Derkack to shoot 3s if he’s shooting ar this low of a rate. It does not keep teams honest. They will beg him to take those shots. I laid out the math in the other post. You can choose to ignore the math. Have a nice day, and I hope we win today.
