Before the season started some here, including me, said don't count too much on 2 frosh superstars producing a Top 20 type season.. but we also said by the end of the year we might be that good.

Do not abandon this team. We will have played a tough Big Ten schedule and if the stars keep producing and we are near the bubble I think we get in.. TV will want it.

We can still turn things around but as you all are indicating, it must start soon. And we will need a fantastic February and keep the losses closer to single digits.. which is looking impossible.

8-6 now.. 17 games remain.. if we go 10-7 we end up 18-13.. that's most probably a no-go but let's examine that.

We'd like to think there are no limits to conference numbers for NCAA bids.. but there are. We know the people in the room represent all conferences and they don't want, say, 10 of 18 Big Ten teams getting in. Make that 11 of 18 won't make it.

We got 8 of 14 last time and did not do all that well. Hmm.. USC and UCLA were both in.. so that would have been 10 of 18. But I think that would be the limit.

If we go 10-7 the rest of the way we end up 11-9 in conference and all but one 11-9 team got in last year... Michigan was left out with an 18-16 overall record. 19-14 Iowa got in.

So, if we go 10-7 the rest of the way.. and the stars shine.. and we have a good end of season and maybe win a game in the Big Ten Tourney.. we have a shot. I think. Anything better and we are in.. I'd hope.

Do you see 10-12 wins here? 6 games vs ranked.. we'd have to beat at least 1.. lets call that 1-5 leaving 11 games vs currently unranked. 5 of those are at home.. lets call them wins. so that brings us to 6-5 with 6 road games left. We'd have to go 4-2 vs currently unranked in those road games.. with teh Big Ten's home-cookin'. @Neb, @PSU, @NW, @md, @Wash. @Meechigan.. PSU just got severe home cooking hosting NW and Michigan always does. We have beaten NW and MD on the road before.. Nebraska has been an issue, IIRC. UW is an unknown.

If Martini was half way decent this would be the type of team we could play him against.
If we had more decent perimeter players this is a game we could play Ace at the 5 against.

I see this as a 50-50 game. We have the crowd and I expect JaMike to be a defensive factor in this game. We HAVE to put Wisconsin out of their comfort zone on offense. I am hoping our length really comes through.

Rutgers sports actively lying. I was at game. Athletics department reported sell out. A lie. Same collection lies to fans faces at the same time demanding donations.

It may be a meaningful observation and it may not be, but it's the opinion of single, former scout for the Jets. So if Sanders is pegged to go and then does go as a top pick, there are multiple scouts still employed by NFL teams who see it differently. As far as my opinion, I have no idea.

I thought that was targeting because of defenseless player but I've seen plenty of helmet to helmet hits that aren't called that way. I don't think anyone knows what targeting is. But for the helmet part of the rule, it almost literally has to be on the bullseye with top crown of the helmet. Any little variation off center of that crown and I've seen it not be called many times. I think the throwing out of the game and missing part of a game part of the penalty is what makes the ref let some of them go. If it was just a 15yd penalty, I think more would get called.

They missed few calls in that game both ways. There was an earlier play that could have been against ASU for defenseless player as well and I wondered if they would call it but they didn't. So to be fair, even though I thought this one should have been called the other one wasn't either.

They also missed an illegal blindside block on Texas' punt return for a TD. They missed the ASU OL pulling CS over the goal line for an ASU TD as well. I thought it was funny at the time but I don't think it's allowed. Tush push is allowed but I don't think pulling is.

I don't know why the D hasn't been good with those names. I think there is no debating they give us the best chance.

The problem with the shake up is no one is really deserving of the extra minutes and i truly feel our best 5 perimeter players (unfortunately) are those 5.

I'd love Grant to come out of nowhere and do what Mag did as a sophomore against Purdue....but given the fact that he is sitting over Martini I am losing hope that is in the cards.

From what I read from the experiences some on this thread talked about, not having a pet health plan should scare anyone that will want to keep their pet around them and willing to pay what it takes to do so.
If you're not willing to do the best you can for your pet and pay what's needed to keep them healthy, getting a pet is not for you. They are a commitment,, not a disposable toy

Not mocking. Just us all having a good discussion because we care and want the team to win. I for one love defense first but sometimes you have to look at the analytics. Our defense has been terrible with the names you want more of. And two or our top 4 three point shooters are ninth and tenth in minutes. When I was coaching HS I found if you want to shake it up you have to really shake it up. You can’t convince yourself things will just get better if you leave them the way they’ve been for so long.

If we continue to insist on having our bigs switch on the perimeter and chase guards and wings around, I would like to see Dortsch get some minutes at the 5. Ogbole is always out of position, has terrible instincts and plays bad post defense, which is why he is always getting pulled, so I would give Dortsch some of his minutes. Hard to believe he could be worse.
