GAME 26 OREGON: Death Spiral

Calling a clean program that is towards the bottom but not at the bottom of its conference a "disgrace" is way over the top.

Disgrace is scandal.

To a lesser extent, disgrace is like #250+ kenpom ratings.

What we are watching is just standard issue bad.
Quickly AI described disgrace as “Being a disgrace" means to be so unacceptable or bad that it causes people to lose respect for you or your actions. Certainly subjective. If you think it’s overreacting you’re ok thinking that. But if you find not being able to inbounds the ball v Iowa disgraceful, or giggling during the alma mater after Iowa, or goofing off in warmups, or quitting on the floor you’re also right. It’s personal opinion.

Everyone is complaining about the offense, but ….

You are certainly entitled to your 1% opinion for what it’s worth. If you do not know how the committee works , they decided we were out and come out with reasons to try and justify which contradicts what they did the year before and what they claimed were the criteria. If 99% of the people say you were wrong but you think you were right , then maybe you evaluate your opinion. Common sense.

Did we make the ncaas or not?

See here's the thing:
The fact that ~all of the bracketologists had us in speaks to a problem with the committee and their criteria; essentially they do not consistently follow it. So from that standpoint I agree with @goru7 ; if 95%+ of independent analysts, using the criteria published by committee, predict Rutgers should be in then they really probably should be in (under their criteria).

Where I agree with @darkcheck is that I don't fully agree with the committee criteria and under my own criteria I wouldn't have included Rutgers in 22/23.

Sustain and retain …Pike’s and Rutgers basketball way forward to rebuilding the program

Pike v Williard coaching is pretty even and I think Pike has a slight edge. If you do not think Williard knows he stepped in shit , then you are naive.
He may have stepped in shit with his current transfers and they do have Under Armor money but I’d still take him over Pike any day.

OT: NJ Property Tax Relief Applications

The form does ask for 2023 and 2024 income, so presumably benefits are based on that income.

(renter)

The payments for 2022 and 2023 that Christie postponed for budget balancing reasons have now been eliminated.

OT: Stock and Investment Talk

NKE a little bump off this news. Wouldnt think much of it myself but 4-5% gain.

This move screams desperation.

OT: President's Day

The Articles of Confederation was a constitution of the United States, just not what we refer to as THE constitution. We divided from Britain as the United States of America as of the declaration of Independence. Can't confirm the first DD.
Agree, The Articles of Confederation was the way the US was bring run before the Constitution came to be. And though the President under it was mainly a ceremonial position without executive power , the holder of the office was President of the Country , just not considered one now that the USA has the Office as a separate branch of government as specified in the US Constitution that replaced The Articles of Confederation as how the Government operated
>The Articles of Confederation served as the written document that established the functions of the national government of the United States after it declared independence from Great Britain. It established a weak central government that mostly, but not entirely, prevented the individual states from conducting their own foreign diplomacy.<

Sustain and retain …Pike’s and Rutgers basketball way forward to rebuilding the program

How do you already know we need to retain the 4 incoming freshman for their sophomore year?

What if it turns out they aren't Big Ten caliber players?
Im a broken record but did we need to retain Jalen Miller and Chol until they were seniors?
Sorry if it get's mentioned further along in thread, but who knows? Chol was a top 5 JUCO this year, averaging 20+ and rebounding well. Could he have given us a longer, better shooting option than Derkack? Could he have given what Hayes has? A team won't have 13 stars. The portal doesn't guarantee you Big Ten players either.

Stats? What does that even mean. His points this year generally meaningless in terms of producing wins

His decision making awful along with his defense

He takes step back 3s
He's taken 8 threes this season. I don't remember all of them but I am confident that the majority of them were not stepbacks. The kid shoots 82% from the line it isn't that absurd to believe he could hit a wide open three.

The 8 threes taken by Lathan are honestly less concerning than the 36 taken by JWill (25% career) and the 40 taken by Derkack (26% career).

Hell, Grant, who everyone is in love with (and for the avoidance of doubt I want to keep him too) is 8/34 from beyond the arc.

"Rutgers basketball's tip time at Washington is a Big Ten disgrace"

It's not a disgrace or a mistake. It's the price of raking in the big bucks as a member of a coast-to-coast conference. Every team will have an occasional tipoff time that isn't optimal for the fans at home, especially the west coast teams. Should Washington fans have to endure a pre-dinner tipoff to accommodate us on the East Coast?

The networks are always going to put the most desirable matchups in prime time for the largest viewing audience. This isn't such a matchup...

"Rutgers basketball's tip time at Washington is a Big Ten disgrace"

At this point, it'll really depend on how they look in the first half whether I stay up. There's very little chance that I'll watch it on delay Thursday, it will probably just check the box score in the morning.

This was a scheduling flub by the Big Ten, imo.
There are 2 other games at 6:30, 8:30 and our game. All on BTN that's the reason.
