Be Honest, When did you first notice something was off?

In sports for the most part you play like and how you practice.
On the offensive side….
To watch JWill dribble the ball on the perimeter and be so out of control on his drives he looks like he’s on roller skates…Every time he does it in practice should be met with an immediate whistle, stop the drill or scrimmage and coached “that’s not what we want”
Same goes on defense when a box out, a switch or a close out isn’t performed to the coaches liking.

If that actually takes place in practice and the players just completely do the opposite in games… I guess there’s no answer

was Indiana State eiher the last or next to last team out..those conference tourney upsets played a role in them being pushed out. I also think the A10 is more respected than the MVC currently at 7. I just think if they win the regular season that will be good enough. It would help to beat a Dayton along the way. They do have 3 Q2 wins right now and their only loss was to Utah State...if i were to do a bracket today which im not and still at least 3 weeks from doing one, I would have them in

Dylan imo…. We win both games with him healthy

Are you crazy, no one said he wasn’t sick or he should have been playing
Yeah then why the bullshyt about him being well enough to go to the women's game,?? Just excuses and yeah you know nothing about his sickness and how it affected the guy. No emphaty is the trademark when talking about a loss. It's getting frigging sickening and I'm not crazy are you?

Pike: “Grant had his two best practices”

As I said earlier from watching practice , Grant was this type of player from Day 1. Very impressive in the 2 early practices I saw. My summary is Pike named Martini as Captain for his experience and had to play his captain and that is the huge fail because he is nothing close to a Captain. No one knew he would be an absolute zero across the board , rebounding , defense or making shots.
Now the only good news I heard in the Pike post game press conference was that he committed that going forward Acuff and Grant will be a big part of the rotation. Hopefully that means Martini is eliminated from the rotation.

JWill: 4 points and has the ball way too much!

Do they? Season has been going great so far.

Sure. Play Dortch and Grant. No reason not to at this point.
Just pointing out that "the transfer shooters have failed and shouldn't be playing - lean into defense" has been happening all year already.

This isn't going to turn into another "If it wasn't for GG and his 7mpg of bad defense, we'd be a NCAA tournament team", is it?

The defense isn't bad because of Hayes, Acuff, and Martini are playing minimal minutes most nights.
Maybe it's the "defenders" actually playing 25+min (Derkack, Davis, Williams)?

The defense is bad because we can’t rebound. Isn’t that obvious? We would likely have at least 4 more wins on the season if everything else about the season went the same way except that. It’s not just that we give up so many offensive boards it’s that so many of them are put backs. Has to be a record number for a major conference team. We didn’t bring in a center. That was a huge mistake. That’s the issue. The guys you are suggesting cannot help us win more games. PJ Hays is 4 of 17 from 3 against major conference teams from 3. Martini is 1 of 8. I don’t want to hear that either of them belong out there. That’s just silly. Tyson plays a style where he thrives as a high volume shooter. That’s the last thing we want when Dylan is healthy. And his D is terrible. Hes not the answer either. We need better interior play on defense. Figure that out and we will win some games and maybe if we make the BIG tournament we can make things interesting.

THE OFFICIAL 2024-2025 NET RANKINGS THREAD

Dayton has wins over UConn and Marquette plus Northwestern and 3 of their losses were to tourney type teams.....unfortunately they suffered a hideous loss to GW by 20 which realy dinged their metrics....2-3 in Q1 and 1-1 in Q2...sos of 47/35. The GW loss though is Q2 still for now. If they finish relatively well but its the Bonnies who win the league with a gaudy overall mark like 25-6, its going to be hard to keep the bonnies out if they dont win the conference tourney. i know their sos sucks but they are currently 31 for wins above bubble and sor is 30. I agree with you on VCU, it seems like every year they hang around the outskirts. Perhaps if they didnt have a really bad loss to SHU but still if they win enough games they will be in the mix and they are a legit shot to win the league and thats how there is potential for even 3 if things broke exactly right and then you pluck a major conference school out....but that less than a 10% chance.

Dayton's got a fair chance at an at-large if they don't get the A10 autobid if things break right for them.

If the Bonnie's finish 25-6, though, I can't see any way they are in without an auto-bid. They only have 2 more Q1/Q2 games left and have only one loss so far. They are also favored in all of their remaining games but one. If they drop 5 more games, that'd be at least 3 Q3/Q4 losses on their resume as well as the related metrics hit from losing to several teams lower than them in NET.... and if their other two losses are Dayton and @VCU, it would mean no Q1 wins to balance them (0-2 Q1, 3-1 Q2). If they take care of business against everyone by Dayton and VCU, and finish 28-3, it'd be hard to keep them out.... but last year, Indiana St got left out at 26-5 (1-3 Q1, 4-1 Q2) with one bad Q4 loss at home.

Pike: “Grant had his two best practices”

It was Pike’s stock answer. It’s just what he says. The reality seems to have been the house was on fire and he was desperate. Meantime, the kid hears that answer and thinks “wtf?”
I've been as big a Pike supporter as any, but as soon as I heard "Grant had his two best practices" I had to turn it off to keep from breaking my computer. Same shit different day at this point.

Targum: No. 16 Rutgers wrestling lineup questions answered following Midlands, ahead of Big Ten opener against Indiana

Yeah had a feeling 184 wasnt completely solved yet..
I suspect Goodale wants to put Walsh there but is struggling with the change. He probably wanted the decision to be clear from the tournament, but doesn't he have the same opportunity with a wrestle-off? Make it a best of three? None of us would want to see Soldano transfer, nor Walsh, for that matter.

Next Coach....

Pikiell isn't going anywhere after this season BUT a conversation is needed. His ass will feel warm after this season.
He’s done ! This is turning into a dumpster fire and next year may be his worst season ever with the players lined up.

No reason to pay him to watch us finish below 500 out of the big ten tournament and further ruin our brand more.

Thank him and let’s start fresh in a new direction with hope .

Observation on Warmups

Could be because its all about the money? Of course pro's like to win and they get paid but remember these are 18-19 year old kids who all of a sudden have a lot of cash at their disposal. Maybe they are playing to get paid instead of playing to win. When guys are changing schools every year chasing $$, there is no pride in the school or the uniform or tradition.
Wouldn't be surprised to see 2 or even less guys return like last year.

Then he needs to hold his players (all of them) accountable and pull them if they’re not performing to his expectations.

The results need to be had sooner and they’re still not there. He’s too much a “players coach.”
How can he do that with Ace and Dylan when his actions could cost these guys millions of dollars
