OT: We may win the World Cup in 2026

Damn, Steffen with an even more amazing save - making a case for some more playing time.

Definitely the most athletic and capable keeper in the roster. MH struggles held him back. Glad he’s back.
Wasn’t one of Tim Howard’s best attributes his overall athleticism? I remember reading how he would have been a major level talent in whatever he chose.

RU Deficit

Yes, it’s the cost of doing business, and nearly all our sports are loss leaders. Only men’s Bb might break even but I’m not even sure about that.
sorry, as usual you're completely either missing the point or purposely putting your head in the sand. Being a loss leader and eating 50% to the tune of $70 million are two completely different things and you know that. I bet 100% YOU don't manage your finances that way. Then again perhaps you're one of those people who don't care if the car depreciates 25% the day you drive it off the lot.

Rutgers ' spplications rise over 90%

RU brand is solid nationwide. The problem is that it’s a small state *and kids want to go away for college.

While ABR is a very real thing, the geography part of equation (or explanation when you ask someone the “why?” question) has something to do with it. Always has, always will.

* Because, collectively, they can. Small state but a wealthy one. And with that you get options.

RU Deficit

The University deficit is likely going to get a lot worse.
1) NIH shutdown. If this continues, close to $1 billion of research money are at risk.
2) If the DOE is shutdown, student loans will be impacted. The loss of even a small % of undergrads will have a major impact on university finances.

OT: Will The Corner Tavern ever come back/will owners sell?

Yeah Man!

Anyone remember Alan Ruda playing on the occasional Saturday night?

Alan Ruda today:

Dude, you unearth the best stuff! 😁
He and his family lived behind us years ago in Middletown. He babysat for us too once or twice.

His father (or his uncle, I forget) was a butcher in Red Bank.

GAME 19 PENN STATE: Shattered Dreams

Yeah the Jeremiah that can be good and be a legitimate third option gets derailed by his own low IQ plays , whether it is constantly getting in foul trouble , fouling 3 point shooters at least 3 times this year , not staying in front of his man enough and cheating going for steals leaving his man on the loose , running into the screener on a handoff for an offensive foul instead of seeing how tight things are and declining to screen. So many simple things resulting in super negative momentum swings or lousy turnover basketball.
If he drove and consistently tried to finish at the rim by using the backboard that could get us 10 points a game. He makes a beautiful move and uses the rim to prevent the block and lays it in 1 play , then he goes soft and uses his weak hand anotherand just floats it up. So we have seen he is capable but his inconsistency is maddening. His failure to convert open 3 pointers has not improved despite him aging. Just give us the same effort every night and play smarter and stop talking to the refs the popcorn salesman and everyone else he talks smack to which really shows his lack of discipline. Excellent summary of JWill and his issues. Nothing else to add really. I saw good Jeremiah in Vegas against Texas A&M unfortunately we have not seen that version a whole lot.
