Soto wasn't 2 feet off the bag. When they showed his lead his lead he was off a normal amount. Not a lead where he'd have to dive to get back but he certainly wasn't only 2 feet off. Smoltz just had a hard on for Soto the entire series. Saying that balls hit to Soto are doubles and triples and when they are hit to Betts they are only singles and saying he didn't run hard when he tagged up when in fact he was busting it down the line pretty good when they showed the replay.

One exhibition game is a small sample, but both players didn't have any rug burns from diving on the floor, didn't see any charges, and they certainly didn't go hard for loose balls and rebounds. If both of these guys are playing 35 minutes and playing hard we shouldn't be destroyed on the defensive glass.
