Because he’s Steve Pikiell and he’s proven he’s incapable of roster management via the portal. He has like a 10% success rate.
Like you said, he’s an old school coach trying to adapt to a new game. In my view he’s incapable of doing that. My guess is that because this is the first real money he’s made in his career, he’s going to pull a C-Viv and hold us hostage till we pay him out.

Agreed that’s what happened in the Wisconsin game and he should have never traveled to Indiana to sit on the bench when he was very sickSo what Rich, he’s a non contributor in his current form.
Win enough at home to make the B1G tournament and sit him until he’s a time bomb of energy.
His body language and standing around is an enormous distraction
Nah. Izzo would have coached differently since the game was never in doubt and the RAC isn’t what it used to be. The fans’ passion just doesn’t seem to be there with this group…and I get that. I think we still lose.In my opinion if this game was at the RAC where it should have been Rutgers wins…
NO more conference home games on a neutral floor!!
Was he making hard cuts to the bathroom or concession stands?Dylan, and Ace were hanging out at the RAC watching the women play the other night, they looked fine.
It can work if you have more NIL and a coach that maximizes talent. Pike has tried to build teams in the past that resemble Houston’s roster construction and play style (great defense, decent-to-good offense, great rebounding, etc.), but he’s just not as good of a coach as Kelvin Sampson.
It may be at hot take but the two tournament years for RU we would have easily been a single digit seed with a better coach in both of those years
Or stop allowing Izzo to not have to bring his Spartans to the RAC. If we continue to play at MSG, have other B1G teams play us.In my opinion if this game was at the RAC where it should have been Rutgers wins…

Remarkable considering how the season
auburn may be an exception…let’s use Rutgers as a base case.
Ace and Dylan- NBA
Acuff, Martini, Hayes, Williams- no eligibility.
Let’s then assume that the other 6 with eligibility choose to return and you have four freshman. If he can’t recruit two ridiculous scorers from the portal this years team will feel like 1976.
In short, if Pike can’t make the portal work he can’t be successful.

It’s not all about transfers and one and dones.
The Nike difference.
Not if we played and shot the ball the exact same as we did today. Have to disagree. If you tell me we play at the RAC, if Dylan is 100% healthy and that we don’t have long stretches of having no ability to score any points, then maybe I would agree. But, Dylan would not have been healthy at the RAC, Ace couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat today, and the team had long droughts of not being able to make a field goal and don’t see how that would be much different if we were at the RAC.In my opinion if this game was at the RAC where it should have been Rutgers wins…

A low grade sprain wouldn't need a brace. It didn’t even look like he had an ankle brace or wrap on it at all—-admittedly I don’t know much about sprains, but was at least expecting an ankle brace.
With the secrecy both Football and Basketball run their programs, Dylan’s knee could be bothering him for all we know.It didn’t even look like he had an ankle brace or wrap on it at all—-admittedly I don’t know much about sprains, but was at least expecting an ankle brace.
