Court level chirping at Nebraska

Several times during the telecast you could clearly and audibly hear court level $hit stirring. Dylan Grant in particular was talking a lot and making his presence felt with blocks and bodying

And Pike — he’s calling out our guys by name, willing them to raise themselves to that next level.

“Cmon Ace!”
“Cmon Dylan!”

It’s incredible. Gotta keep building on whatever this mojo is. Keep chirping.
On the block in 2nd half you could hear Grant yell “ Give me that $hit)

Loved it

“Grant”-ed. It’s time to make the move.

Grant is really growing throughout the season, and it's great to see. Huge upside, and he's playing much more comfortably and within himself on the court. Defense improving, decision making improving. Looking forward to big things from him.

OT: Cooking up some LoBro!

Will try this

I thought that lo bro texture wouldnt work in a crockpot?
Anything works in a crockpot over time but the liquid is very important and time wise this takes hours like a slow cook bbq. The meat gets so tender as most do and it's easy to pull apart. I've done three in one pot at the same time so keep rotating them so each has a long time in the liquid. Gravy master can be added and/or worcestershire. An onion in at the start isn't a bad idea. Many possibilities.

OT: Moderate to Significant Snow (and some rain SE of 95) for Sunday, 1/19.

Lol what kind of map is that 2-4 plus?

seems like Dan copped out and didnt make a call for no jersey
0-10" lol and what's with the -2-4"? Is that supposed to be 2-4"- meaning 2-4" but could be less, kind of like 2-4"+ is 2-4" but could be more? Although to be fair if one looks at the NWS low and high maps (<10% chance of each) they show a range of 1-10" for most.

Chris Long reopens recruitment

I didn't even look at their schedule. Just looked.

Losses: Tenn, Clemson, Ga Tech, Miami, SMU, BC, Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pitt
Wins: Colgate, and maybe UConn.

They will have a difficult time replacing McCord's production. Being generous, maybe they win one of Ga Tech and BC.
That is a tough schedule......................................................... for the ACC.

I see that as 2 wins, 4 toss-ups and 6 losses

GAME 18 NEBRASKA: Step by step, one by one

The bus ride on Sunday to Penn State could be a Great Adventure with the prediction of snow .Timing of departure will be key .Rutgers is moving forward and Penn State is heading downward.Make the foul shots at crunch time and it will be a smooth ride home.
I think it’s more of a coastal storm, so should not be a problem for the bus heading west into central PA.

Manny Ogbole appreciation thread

Huge! Jump ball was so big and he had no business getting it that ball was behind his head.

Don't mess with the starting lineup or anything we've finally found something that is working. He looks like a different guy coming off the bench let him come in and put in that work on the boards (and play more minutes overall).
This is where I'm conflicted. The bench guys have been such a boost you don't want to mess with it, but the starting line up has really been pretty bad together. 3 of the four halves they've played together they've been outscored by like 6 or 7, putting us in holes. I'm not sure if its Acuff or Sommerville I'd change, and also not sure who I'd replace Acuff with, but would like to see him in a spot he can be more assertive offensively.

OT: Cooking up some LoBro!

There is also an underrated option on how to cook and enjoy London Broil.
Marinate as usually but we are going to cook it in a crockpot to make pulled beef sandwiches.
Add the beef and the rest of wet marinade into the crockpot along with some Dr. Pepper (trust me). About a half a cup is good.
Low is best but go high if you don't have the time. When the LoBro is falling apart pull it out and let it rest while you make the gravy. Pour the liquid into a small pot under high heat until until 3/4 of the liquid is remaining.
Pull the meat apart and put it on a nice kaiser roll. Spoon the gravy on top and enjoy!
Will try this

I thought that lo bro texture wouldnt work in a crockpot?

Last night was our worst defensive night since November 16, 2019.....but

i think Grant has a lot of potential defensively, but he was making a lot of mental mistakes. Lathan was just straight up bad. We were giving up baseline way too easily
Grant got lost on close outs and didn't recognize the speed of the forwards he was playing against in Gary and Williams at times went right past him.

I also think part of my concerns about rebounding and on the ball defense was a concern with Hayes and Martini playing were also valid. The plus side of playing Grant is he may give up some of those same drives that Martini or Hayes would but he is able to offset that on offense, by climbing the glass for a put back or layup. Add in the teams are not closing out on Grant and he's knocking down 3s. So while the defense and Nebraska offense is excellent, I don't think it was all bad defense.

Nebraska and Hoiberg are not at the level of Iowa/ Fran McCaffery level of detail on offense but it's now Year 5 and Hoiberg has figured out what types of players can fit this program in recruiting and score on offense AND play a competitive level of defense.....

The days of Nebraska recruiting a CJ Wilcher type and throwing him passes for corner 3s is fine, but if Wilcher isn't a rebounding guard or wing up front or solid defensive player, it's going to cost you. It is why I don't see Gavin Griffiths ever putting it together, until he dedicates himself to playing like he's really 6'8" and adding 20 lbs of strength and muscle, so Hoiberg can use that type of wingspan.

This loss is a RU 10 out of 10 times if not for RU coaching on offense AND winning games in regards to recruiting playmakers like Ace, Dylan Harper and Dylan Grant, along with a JWill......it is very difficult to win ANY B1G road game, but getting 60+ PTS from 3-4 FROSH, solves a lot of problems. If Martini and JWill were Akwasi Yeboah and Geo Baker level shot makers, RU rings up 100 to 105 last night.
