Anyone else notice Gavin?

What I saw and see is just a highly ranked kid who believed in Pike and RU but simply wasn’t and still isn’t as good as the hype. He thought a change would do him good. I can’t be angered by that. If he was a 2* or 3* and did the same fans here would have wished him well at his next stop.

Well ... he supposedly had Douby-like range ... and TOOK Doubly-like range shots ... but for RU hit under 30% from 3, and for Nebraska is just 5-23, 22%.

I'm sure the kid is very nice.I've never met him. If people don't care what I have to say (like you said) then how come I have almost 30k views on my post. That's not a lie,that's a fact.

No one is angry anymore because he, in fact, sucks. If he was lighting it up out there then anger would be justified to some extent after his "I'm never hitting the portal" comment.

Personally I was most annoyed at him because Pike gave him every opportunity in the world to succeed and he never took it. And then the way he left, complete with his dad on social media, made it clear they thought his underwhelming freshman season was Pike's fault.

Turns out it wasn't.

Agreed. He’s shown some flashes. Shouldn’t have started the second half though and certainly shouldn’t have checked in again with 10 or so minutes remaining. He was a flat out liability vs Nebraska and it almost cost us.

Yes - it’s a game of runs but it also can’t be ignored on a given day when the bad stretches occurred with a specific rotation multiple times. Probably not a coincidence. That doesn’t mean those same kids will be bad every game - match ups play a big part and just generally good days and bad days. That said - I think a broad statement that we were awful on D misses the mark. There were certain units that were really solid in the game despite what the overall blended stats show.

Grant certainly looks the part of the missing piece forward that was lacking through much of the early season. Seems to be getting more comfortable with every minute played. Has not yet had a breakout rebounding game but that too is coming. Rebounding as a team has really improved lately and Grant may be partly responsible despite not getting the rebounds himself.
