Guys, Rutgers was up 12 with under ten minutes left in the game, it should never have even gotten to this point.

Even before the traveling calls and double dribbles.

Michigan went on a 17-4 run to take the lead. Rutgers shot the ball like absolute shit. 25% from the field in the 2nd Half and 10% from deep. If I'm Pikiell, I'm telling my guys in the huddle during a timeout to settle down and look for better shots closer to the basket or to attack the rim (possibly draw fouls). They just continued to take too many contested jump shots from beyond mid-range.

Also, Rutgers didnt' play an ounce of defense in this game. It was terrible. The layup lines in the 2nd Half were unreal for Michigan. They finished with 48 points in the paint. YOU CANNOT ALLOW THAT.

The refs are part of the equation but the refs didn't cause an absolute meltdown for a team that was in control and up double figures.
We also lost Ace for 10 minutes on the middle of the half. That impacted his play

They worked hard to put themselves in a position to win, yes .. but actually winning on a 26-ft buzzer beater takes an element of luck that can't be ignored.

There is luck in every game... Usually it's a matter of winning by 8 instead of winning by 11, or whatever. In single possession games, luck is a much larger factor because of so many things that happen during a game that are not directly the result of actions in the player's sphere of influence.

The ball bounced in Michigan's direction 9 out of 9 times, which is unusually fortunate when looking at the scope of all basketball teams and all basketball games.
Or maybe they have a great coach and players executing. That's your difference. Luck is a game here or there when you consistently perform in close games well that's more than luck

Rutgers is about 500 in close games.

I wouldn't necessarily focus on Michigan last shot. Its more than that for them. In the last 2-3 minutes in every game they seem to step up an execute in close games. Great teams do that alot. Average teams will do it every so often. That's your receipts on seperation

It's like flipping a coin and getting heads nine times in a row... It happens, but it's rare.

You are overly focused on the 8th or 9th biggest problem and ignoring the rest.

Your only sentence in this thread that I agree with - well at least the first part

If you actually READ MY POSTS you’ll see I fully acknowledge all the issues with this team\ pike- so I am not ignoring anything

Re “8th or 9th biggest problem “ Actually as far as the season goes - I don’t even include officiating

But last night - it absolutely was A reason.

Michigan 8-0 in recent close games

That final three to beat us last night had a less than 50% chance of going in. They beat the odds for that win, which definitely has an element of luck. That's apart from all the other small things through the end of the game that were not directly in the player's control.

I don’t understand what you are even talking about

Literally NO ONE here is disagreeing that “major issues that have impacted our season before officiating “

Literally no one is saying otherwise sp

You do realize that (1) this program/ team program having major issues that have nothing to do with officiating AND (2) RU getting f’d by the refs last night can BOTH be true?

Again , there is literally no one saying otherwise.
WTF are you saying????

Refs

if my aunt had balls.....honestly not trying to be an ass, but do you really think the refs are our problem? I see so many MAJOR issues that have impacted our season before officiating. And if you think officiating is the reason we dont make the tournament (or even plays a factor), please lay that out for me. If not, stop the bitching and moaning, because you just proved it isnt overly relevant.
They robbed the game from us last night.

Fact

we are not 14-15 this year because of the refs. that we are not 15-14 is because of the refs.
