That last second escape in 2nd period costed Shawver
"ON3 has RU 7th nationally and 2nd in the BIG in transfer portal roster improvement". I owe an overall apology for whining in October. You mean the National Semifinalist PSU. That one?
Has RU EVER outrecruited PSU? Year to year they're OSU, Michigan level. It's called winning big games, like it or not.
It wasn't that long ago RU was finishing 15th or 16th out of 16 in B1G recruiting. Now it's up to 8th or 9th out of 18 in '25. ON3 has RU 7th nationally and 2nd in the B1G in transfer portal roster improvement.
Win and young men will show up.
Shelby wouldn’t call it a Frankenstein roster. Frankenstein has useful traits. This is a ‘festering, dog diarrhea in August’ roster. No ambiguity.Ace is the only guy on the team who has consistently played at a high level. He was hurt early and rushed back from injury to ensure he was there for his team.
In my opinion Ace is to be applauded, he’s playing his ass off while being supported by massively flawed Frankenstein roster.
But... six teams above them with better overall records. LOL. You've been outed. 😉Heels tied for 5th at 6-3.
Yep. People can make fun of the Costco boys all you want. They’re social media stars and some of the most viral content creators right now. Inviting one of them to a match is an innovative way to connect to people who otherwise might not know a thing about college wrestling. This, ^^^^^ Rutgers does a great job promoting wrestling. They are also very active in inviting youth teams, HS teams to their home duals(and a very steep discount)
I don't see the evidence that the team is uncoachable or doesn't buy into coaching. Ace takes a lot of midrange shots because Pikiell doesn't realize he shouldn't be doing that.
Other than that I see two freshman who are good enough to be major pieces on a good team (and yes this includes Ace now who has improved dramatically but this unfortunately had coincided with Harper being unable to play effectively) and a bunch of other players who are emphatically not. Michigan State has 8 players that are better than our third best player and those players are not the ones who supposedly can't be coached because they are going to the NBA next year.
Well we might say the same about Notre Dame. It's already a well-established fact that God is not a fan of Rutgers Athletics. Unfortunately, it looks like his son is following in his footsteps.
Yea obviously, but he was there and it was still obvious (and the results were such) that even if he didn’t miss a single play, this team was very unlikely to make the dance. Not defending pike it’s his roster and the negativity will obviously be severe but I think people will recognize that not having Harper functional is kind of a big problem.
I'm a proponent of the consolation hedge. One time in Las Vegas, I bet against RU Hoops and my friends couldn't wrap their head around the concept. RU ended up winning and covering the bet so I lost the money but was happier than if I had won the money.I’m an Eagles fan and took Washington moneyline +215, as a consolation hedge.
That one and many others. It was a FlavNightmare. Was it the one in which he married Brigitte Nielsen?
Yes ..much upside in Year 1 with the new recruits.Others I think with a chance are lbs Archie and McClary and safety Hayer.
It's a pretty impressive class.
That timeline is unacceptableIf one believes the assertion that the AD search begins after new president is hired, the interviews would begin last this year, possibly October or November.
Amy Towers said the prez search would begin this month and take nine or ten months. That takes us to September or October.
The new prez will have a lot on the plate but with athletics a priority I expect the AD search to commence soon after the new prez starts.
Let's say the AD search takes 3 months. Then, Rutgers will welcome the new AD in early 2026.
Not reallyOk. But they could’ve done that anywhere
This. In addition to Strong and Duff returning we have several very highly recruited WRs coming in. Look for immediate impacts from 2 of them. This group will be as good or better than the 2006 unit. It’s a shaky list at best. While I don’t think AK is a great QB, I would take him over at least 3 of the guys listed in front of him. It a Wisky article, so keep that in mind. I like AK better than Edwards (Wisky), Chiles (MSU) and Mendoza (Indiana). Saw Mendoza play for Cal a few times, a little similar - I think AK is the better passer. Also, I don’t think Allar is the best QB in the B1G. He gets a lot of hype as a 5 star QB in HS. He looks the part, he isn’t that accurate a passer. In fact, put AK on PSU and I’m not sure their offense looks different. I like RU’s offense for next season. Have a solid core returning on OL. Think the WR group will be the best in at least 10-15 yrs. Now have a few TEs. A good group of RBs.
