You’re always going to have misses, recruiting the caliber of kids we’re recruiting, but you need at least a few hits to be successful.

Rutgers ain't got no money, but sorely needed an update to their baseball facility. This was the cheapest route to do so. It would seem to me to make more sense to have built it at RU and have MCC travel there to play but I don't think that's what the $$ people were offering.

So no, this dumpster fire isn’t due to NIL shortcomings. It was due to changing the philosophy away from defense and ridding the roster of those kinds of players (keeping only Davis unfortunately as a favor to Ace) and adding 4 stiffs who are too slow and can only hit wide open jumpers which the offense doesn’t create for them anyway since Ace and Dylan are only looking to compile gaudy ppg for the draft.

Since the two stars are not paid with RU NIL (were free to RU) of course we had enough to target better players than we got.

The issue isn’t that we changed the defensive philosophy. It’s that we don’t have adequate personnel to execute our new more offensive oriented philosophy. We don’t have enough kids who can score.

Had we had adequate NIL, we would have landed better transfers and would have had more players who could consistently score.

Rutgers didn’t build it Middlesex County did. It will be a temporary thing until RU upgrades theirs. Also RU could be playing some of their games on their field.

What happened was it was always a dumb public hysteria spurred by viral claims with no basis in reality. Listen to her statement. Hobbysits, recreational, etc. Additional sightings spurred by "curiosity." 99 percent of the sightings were planes lol. We learned that NJ is full of extremely dumb people.

Ace wasn't playing well back then though so we were pretty much a one man show. Like we are now. The fact that we are playing at basically the same level over the past month as we did over Nov/Dec is actually evidence that there has been a lot of improvement since we've essentially been missing what was our best player by a wide, wide margin.

Now that's not to say everything would be all roses if Harper were healthy; we still dug ourselves a pretty big hole at the beginning of the season. But I think it's pretty reasonable to think that the team, as of 1/28/2025, would be at least a bubble quality team with a healthy Harper.

From what I was told by my rep a couple of years ago. They are still Rutgers employees and “IMG, Pacolian etc…” are merely the technology vendor. So the technology is what it is. I’m thinking our issues are not the technology or the individual representatives.

We certainly could have done better at the 5. Lathan is completely outmatched on D and not a legit b10 center. Slow, soft, selfish.

Deferring money keeps present day value down which matters for luxury tax purposes.
