This thing was over months ago. I know the preseason hype made it difficult for many to come to terms with, but this roster was incredibly flawed and the coaching staff who has always had trouble early with rotations and managing egos, has an entirely different coaching task set out in front of them this year - one they had no experience with.
The pieces don’t fit. A big was never secured. And the program refuses to embrace modern day offensive strategy, which means we are playing with one hand behind our back before we even get out on the floor.
Next year the roster will encounter the same sort of turnover and leave the staff to try to solve many similar problems they couldn’t figure out this season. The trend has been down for quite a long time, ever since the covid season it’s been trend line down. This clsss had the *potential to stave off that downward trend, but any hope was thrown away before the season started.
Pike needs to take action this offseason, starting with the staff. Unfortunately, I don’t think it will matter. But a big shakeup always has to come in the act before the last one.
