The NWS has increased snowfall amounts to 1-2" starting from a line from about Trenton to Keyport to about 78 and increased snowfall amounts to 2-4" north of 78 to 80 (and NW of 287), generally speaking, as per the discussion below, but still waiting for the updated snowfall map; NWS-NYC did update their map with 1-2" for the southern half of NYC/LI and 2-3" for NENJ (Union up to Bergen), northern NYC/LI, but waiting on the regional map before posting any maps. Will post an updated map when available. Areas N of 80 and especially up towards 84 could get 1/4" of ice accretion on top of several inches of snow and much less rain (but should still get some), as temps will stay colder up there.
Edit - NWS map finally updated showing the snowfall increases across the board.
Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Mount Holly NJ
336 PM EST Thu Feb 13 2025
SHORT TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...
To start the day Saturday, a large area of low pressure will be
centered near Oklahoma with the system`s warm front extending well
north and east into Indiana and Kentucky. As the warm front
approaches, expect clouds to quickly lower and thicken with
precipitation developing over the area west to east most likely
through the early to mid afternoon timeframe. This is a slightly
later onset than previous thinking as it will take some time for dry
air in the low levels to become saturated enough for precip. While
the inland track of the low will ultimately put the area on the
system`s warm side, indications are there will be enough cold air at
the onset for a front end "thump" of snow that could affect areas
even as far south as the I-95 corridor. As such, expect that the
urban corridor will see precipitation start as snow Saturday
afternoon with the potential for an inch or two of accumulation
before a change to rain occurs here from south to north through the
late afternoon into the evening. Farther north, there will be
greater concerns for wintry precip lasting further into Saturday
night. Getting up towards the I-78 corridor, expect snow to mix with
and change to sleet and freezing rain into Saturday evening with the
potential for several hours of a wintry mix before an eventual
change to rain. It is this zone and areas northward where 2 to 4
inches of snow and sleet is expected with the potential for a tenth
to a quarter in of ice accretion to follow.
Heading into Sunday, all areas should become rain with rain becoming
more showery in nature as much of the area gets into the system`s
warm sector. This will allow highs to get into the 50s to even some
low 60s across southern parts of the forecast area while our far
northern zones (southern Poconos and NW NJ) will only see highs in
the upper 30s to low 40s.

He was the biggest and Southern was in connection with him when he was in middle school. He would have left sooner but his mother was a nurse in his local school district. Was Molinaro the first big transfer or did they have guys make similar moves before him?
Funny you said that. We have a group that enters various walks polar bear plunges etc…. We continued to do them during Covid without the “official” designation. It was mostly about the “tailgating” experience. What’s interesting is we raised more money for the charities in these off event dates than we did prior years. Sport withdrawal lead to a flag football event. Game never happened because everyone was having too much of a good time tailgating.During Covid, the Sports withdrawal was so bad that I debated going down and tailgating in the yellow lot by myself, or even with my neighbor, and we could’ve just social distance, but ultimately decided against it
At the end of the day, this is a hobby, and a lower priority than real life. If you can’t support, you can’t support. But there are plenty of people who can support but won’t support, and that is problematic, because our Big Ten peers are supporting their teams to the hilt, with regards to NIL.Hey Al,
You need a serious reality check.
I am a die hard Rutgers fan, who also works a full time job along with two part time jobs to make ends meet.
I am more concerned that my electric bill is going to increase by 20% starting June 1st and how I am going to have to put my season tickets on my credit card again this year and pay them off over time.
Just because YOU can afford to donate, doesn’t mean most of us can. “If everyone just donated $1,000…” cmon. Enough with that bullshit.
Before you post, you should really stop and think that your experiences and outlook is an outlier when it comes to most of the Rutgers fan base.
Its beyond annoying how unrealistic you are and out of touch with reality.
For many of us, college sports was a more affordable and accessible outlet. Now, things have changed, any for me personally and many I know, there is a severe decrease and interest because of the $$$ required to be “successful “ .
Agree he's a freshman that will get better. As for offensive freshman that really comes down to shots taken and minutes. Cliff's %'s were similar he just played less and took half as many shots. He still has been our best offensive center in
a long time
And is a freshman who’s game offensively will probably get better
If we lost him I doubt we replace that
We all feel the same way, especially compared to the expectations we had. My thinking is, what can we do to avoid this next season.Al, I think you're right. But he really blew it this year. I have been a Pikiell supporter since he got here. But this abomination of a season has crushed my spirit. I continue to give to both BB and FB but my patience has run really thin.
Yep, this is a big storm for the Catskills and every ski resort north of there in NY/New England. And if 2/20 turns out to be a big snowstorm, which is quite possible, you may have picked the best week of the year...North of 84 is still showing 9+ inches on Sunday. Vermont is showing 18-24” depending on location. My ski week in VT is looking great for the week of 2/24. 😃
Most of our issues have always been financially based...right from the beginning, the genesis of our "bigger time" athletics aspirations in the 70's. We have ALWAYS wished to have success BEFORE making any real commitment of resources and/or funding. Just think about all the coaching changes there have been here over the last 50+years. Has there EVER been any stampede of qualified, "name" candidates for any open coaching spots in the major sports here??? Of course not! Our cheap reputation is widespread and well known in the marketplace. Any facilities improvements take years to just get plans drawn...forget about actually getting anything built. THEN, we always want to build and hire on the cheap. Do we really think that Schiano and Pikiell do NOT want to be able to bid with the big boys for the highest rated HS recruits and portal transfers?????? The would love to be able to do so...but it's not likely to ever happen here. It is what it is...and, additionally, we here do not seem to remember that most of NJ has never given a rat's mass about RU sports. In fact, most politicians and the general population seem to resent $$$$ spent on RU sports. There have been times when I have questioned the sanity of coaches and players when they decide to come to RU...it also explains why I love them all for coming to try and help out in straightening out this sh**show that we have here.
Thank you for listening. Sorry for rambling. This last loss was a really tough one. Hard to figure how a performance like last night's is rationally explained away. The issues are so systemic it is not possible to get anywhere near the root of the problem, like blaming a player(s) or a coach(es). What other institution of higher learning takes months and months to replace Presidents and Athletic Directors?????? Been here, done this too for long....rutgersal is right....SOMEONE/SOMEBODY/SOMETHING has to make a decision that Rutgers really DOES want to play in the big time col!ege sports sandbox and finally act the part....and pony up or shut up.
Phil Sellers must be turning in his grave after performances like last night's second half.
Gonna go away for a while in a dark room now. Go RU!
