No byline... article is written by "RU in VA"... reads like a post from a disgusted fan on this board
Iowa did a good job running their sets for sure. They watched the film of all the other teams who have been running layup drills on us all yearI disagree about Ace and Dylan being the problem and that our offense ran much better last night when they were out of the game. I was at the game. I don’t remember ANY point where I felt anything but disgusted with what I saw on the offensive end. I mean in the first half we made some shots and there was an illusion that we were playing well, but with or without Ace and Dylan in the lineup our offense looked terrible and in terms of scheming it looked nonexistent. As I said in a different thread, I’ve been in pikes corner from the beginning, but it was so stark to me the difference in what we had as a half court game plan and what Iowa was running. I honestly don’t know how anyone with a little bit of basketball knowledge couldn’t see that. We had to work incredibly hard for mediocre to difficult shots. How many easy shots did Iowa have? I mean there were times, speaking of our defensive end, which is both a tribute to their offense, and a slap at our defense, that one of their players drove right down the lane and there wasn’t anybody within 3 feet of them. If you wanna pick out a guy who wasbreally bad on defense last night, I’d have to go with Dylan Grant. Every time his man drove to the basket he was riding behind him, forcing whoever our center was to come over to help and leaving Iowa center wide open for dunks or put backs on the shots.
I think if you brought someone to the game who has watched minimal, maybe zero, college basketball and said watch what this team does when they’re on offense and then watch what the other team does when they’re on offense and you tell me which one seems to know what they’re doing and which one seems an accident waiting to happen, it’d be easy. It was that obvious.
That's Angel Rivera... Supposedly one of the better B1G refs... Although i have never been a fan of his... Very inconsistantAbsolutely pathetic officiating. Congrats to this scrub on making himself the star of the show
If he is even cutting at all... He is fast as hell though....He was only 113 last year so if he’s weighing in at 125 he’s probably not cutting much.
That’s a call where Goodale has to go nuts and get a misconduct. They’re not losing this dual so you have to send a message that this garbage officiating is getting out of hand in our home arena.Don't get that stall. This ref is fvcked up.
I wasn’t with your earlier this season but I’m with you now. The Iowa game was a clown show. I feel like I care more than some of the players.I enjoyed last season more. Lack of defense bothers me. Id rather watch Oskar and Simpson over Ace and Dylan. Thats just me.
You’ll get your wish next seasonLast year and this year teams tough to watch on the eyes.
I’ve realized that I like teams with lower expectations much better !
Underrated part of Clark’s game this year is his gas tank. Feel like his stamina is way better and having enough energy to give up 8 points in the first period and still have enough to score 10+ the rest of the way is pretty impressive.Clark came back from giving up a 7 point move early
Eh I guess that would work but I think only two round-robin games is too few, and I hate having wild card teams in tournaments. Combining wild card with only two round robin games would mean that the wild card team is definitely decided by standings tiebreakers. With 9 viable countries, I think it would be better to just bring in Latvia/Norway/Denmark and make it two groups of five.9 would be 3 groups of 3. Each team plays two round robins..top team in each plus one wild card make the knockout round.
Can’t leave out Germany with drausaitl. Can’t leave out Slovakia with recent top draft picks. So they go with 9..very doable within a 2 week period
