If Rutgers goes 19-15, I think we get a bid.

How many games per year, on average, are left by Friday that would have a real impact on actual selection (not seeding) if they were given full weight? It's got to be less than one per year on average right?

It's funny that a man who puts so much work into bracketology would justify such laziness by the people actually picking the bracket.

If it's too much work for the humans have an algo pick the brackets. "Games after Thursday don't count because it's too much work" is just super, super weak.
its not laziness...they literally are working on seeding that Friday and Saturday and putting them in regions.....conference tourney finals on Saturday in the acc, sec, big east will NOT EFFECT seeding...its as simple as that

too bad.

they already have 12-15 contingency brackets....they are all but bringing their 37 at larges when they walk in that door on Wednesday. Accept it and move on...there may be some at the margins stuff that could happen thursday or friday but expecting some major shift isnt going to happen

its one or 2 games..get over it

Michigan

I agree on Bailey they won't be able to cover nearly as aggressively now that Dylan is back. UCLA and USC seemed to try something similar and Harper dominated.

Hopefully Ogbole can give some good minutes but I wouldn't count on it and I hope he has a short leash. Martini did very well on Goldin last game and I can see him giving Ogbole fits.
Martini also got a pretty generous whistle in guarding Vlad (who was also battling the flu). Would be surprised if thats replicable on the road

Bacatology 2/24: NCAA Tournament Analysis

Georgia is now 17-11 overall and 3-11 in Q1, 3-0 in Q2 and 9-11 in Q1/2/3

wins over Florida high level Q1 to go along with their previous of St Johns and Kentucky so that is 3 high level Q1 wins. There is an additional quality win over Oklahoma. 4 wins vs field.

Big negative is 1-7 road mark...next 2 are on road at Texas, at SC and then finish home to Vandy...will likely need 2 of these to stay in the field

Basketball GM Chops

Will be interesting to see how RU attacks this one. Many different profiles in these roles across the landscape. Dunleavy at Nova comes from the coaching ranks, Baker at Duke with a Nike background, Kline at Cuse with recruiting and some NBA, Carolina went the ex agent route. Will be interesting to see what type of profile emerges as the most successful. Regardless - there are many connected to RU with all of those type of backgrounds. At the end of the day - RU will get what they pay for as the pool of talent for this role will be highly coveted as most high majors add this role and a supporting staff over the next 90-120 days. Need to invest the right way here.
This ^^^^ scenario always frightens me with RU. Making good, forward-looking decisions in a timely manner is not an RU strength. Hopefully, this time...🙏🙏,

Cincy meanwhile becomes a legit bubble team. The win is their 2nd Q1 today but at 30, Baylor could fall out of Q1 tomorrow so its likely that Cincy will still have a 1-9 Q1 mark, however they will be 9-2 in Q2 to put them at a solid 10-11 in Q1/2 and Q1/2/3 as well.

Yet only 2 wins vs field...BYU and Baylor so they have work to do....at Houston is the big bounty up next with games against Kan Stat and at Ok State. Get them all and they dance...go 2-1 and I think they are there on the board but fall short.

Bacatology 2/24: NCAA Tournament Analysis

Baylor falls at Cincy and now at just 15-12 are in trouble.

just 2-9 on the road. 5-10 in Q1 and 10-12 inn Q1/2/3.

They have only 1 high level Q1 over St Johns....3 others vs teams in field Kansas, Arkansas and WVU

sos of 4/12 a big plus

for some reason they had are only playing 30 games not 31 so that may hurt them

3 games left...OK State, at TCU and Houston...will need to 2-1 absolutely....1-2 to put them 16-14 would be a disaster

“I Got Rutgers Into The Big 10…. 90 Days Later They Fired Me.”

I'll never forget Pernetti speaking at a Court Club meeting in January 2013. While addressing the club he said (paraphrasing), "An athletic director at a major university has a myriad of responsibilities, but will ultimately be judged by who he hires as the head football coach and head men's basketball coach."

Three months later, the Mike Rice fiasco came to light and he was gone.
And you work in the same building as the basketball practices, so there’s no way you don’t know how things go at those practices.

“I Got Rutgers Into The Big 10…. 90 Days Later They Fired Me.”

I am not so sure Barchi would have fired Tim if he fired Rice when it first broke.
Barchi was throwing everyone under the bus regardless. Barchi and counsel told Pernetti not to fire Rice but suspend him. Then reversed course and fired Tim for not disobeying those orders.

Not defending Tim just hate cowardice leaders like Barchi.
