Everyone is complaining about the offense, but ….

It will be interesting to see what adjustments Pike will make post season. Guessing back to a defense first approach, as we will not have the pure offense of Dylan and Ace.
We constantly lose “shape” on defense and that leaves the off ball defense unable to close out on ball reversals. We also have a lot of difficulty defending the pick and rolls, and for that matter fighting through and anticipating screens. We are just not sharp or decisive on our on ball coverage, seems like we are always running at an open three ball shooter, especially in the corners.
I think losing Dylan to his surgery pre season and Acuff broken foot, and Ace with his hip pointer also was a factor in terms of team defense. Lots of other stuff but enough for now.

OT: Winter Storm Thursday 2/20: Very Likely Somewhere Between A Non-Event and a Minor Event (oof)

0.5" as of 9:10 pm - love that last band - gorgeous out there...hope to make 0.6-0.7"
Final measurement around 10:45 pm was 0.6" (was poker night and we just finished, so I wasn't getting out to measure that often, lol). Brings us to 16.5" this season. Beautiful light fluffy snow - must be 14-15:1 ratios. About to go broom this one away.

I agree it was a weird year. Turley had his AA run the same year and it created unfair expectations moving forward. Olympic redshirts took and no ivy created a ton of opportunities for guys who would otherwise be R12 and R16 guys.
When I ran road races competitively back a few moons ago, I'd have a subpar race but typically finish at the top ar near in my age group on a day when the competition wasn't great I'd lament and tell my running mentor about my pedestrian success. His response was 'you beat whoever showed up. Plenty of people were home doing nothing. You beat them all." That rings in my ear to this day. Pos and Turley are All Americans.
Happy for the win. The biggest issue the entire night was the inability to finish takedowns. It was the difference at 141 & 149 (both were in on deep shots but couldn’t convert) but also saw it at 165 & 184 (SCW did finish his first legitimate shot quickly). The 2nd issue was hanging on for the win/gas tank/poor strategy. Turley and SCW ran away from their guys at the end of their matches. Gas tank/lack off confidence in his gas tank and just bad strategy is. too early in the 3rd for SCW to shut it down.
I tried to be tactful and skirted the TD issue as much as I could. It's a problem and will limit success. The ability to create shots is rare for some. To finish was near impossible even with those deep shots. I sat with my daughter and explained the improbable chances of finishing DEEEEP singles, and she said "Yeah Dad, I know".

What is most discouraging about this team, and there are many possibilities

Same as some other recent years, the bad early losses. Kennesaw and Princeton. The hole becomes too much. It hangs over the team. It deflated the fans. I truly believe mich and Iowa at home would have been different if we had more to play for.
People are not mentioning the lost of EO. Having another big and one that was slowly improving may have made a difference in a few games.

They were. That doesn’t matter though. At the end of the day they were all Americans.
U are not a R12-R16 caliber wrestler beating guys like Nelson Brands, Deprez and having really tight match with Hidlay/Keckeisen.. Poz wrestled at a higher lvl his freshman year what don’t u get? Wonder what a match with Poz vs Keckeisen would look like today…. Surely not the same 5-4 score back then.
