OT: Plane and helicopter collide in DC

When the organizational leadership comes out and say the person had typical/good performance reports, people will say they were faked or "held to different standard" or that the leadership is lying to cover up their stealth DEI program. It is the perfect "conspiracy theory" scenario.

To be clear, I am not saying that there aren't cases where people are put in positions they shouldn't be. Sometimes it is because of mis-guided DEI efforts, sometimes nepotism, and sometimes racism, etc. But I quite frankly am sick of every non white male we don't agree with being accused of DEI favoritism. I say that as a proud husband of a highly qualified woman and proud father of a young woman who is very good at what she does. I sometime shudder to think of what the women in some people's lives must be like if they think that the reason the US airline industry is so safe is because pilots are 90%+ males.
Not sure what you mean--I would assume the best pilots have been hired from the pool of candidates.

OT: New ACC Deal To Reward Clemson and FSU?

Absent of Notre Dame, UNC has been reported as the first choice

Both FSU and Miami would be great fits for the Big Ten, FSU for both the SEC and Big Ten in Miami just for the Big Ten

Agree, that Clemson appears to be SEC bound when it is all said & done
None of these schools, with the exception of Notre Dame, are good fits for either the Big Ten or the SEC. They simply don't have the ratings that are going to generate the necessary revenue.

It's okay to ask all the questions when you have ~70 people dead for something that shouldn't have happened, the accident itself.

And these types of questions were always asked, in disasters like this, it's just now with social media we can see the multitude are who are asking.
Nah, you can wait for actual info.

You'll have to either way, so might as well not embarrass yourself in the process.

OT: Electric vehicles

I was down to a Rivian and the Y, just wasn’t very close cost wise and I think Rivian could use a few more years to mature tech/vehicle wise. It’s definitely more of a luxury brand. If it can make something similar to the Ioniq it will get interesting
To the eye (my eyes anyway), they just don't do it for me.

I like the S and that's about it at this point.
