UConn’s Dan Hurley calls out conferences that ‘claim’ to be the best without NCAA ‘championship trophies’

UConn’s Dan Hurley says the Big East “is the best conference” in the country in men’s basketball, and called out other leagues that “claim” to be the best without “championship trophies.”

Time to Open up the offense and simplify defense

Because this defense isn’t stopping anyone. If we’re going to go down, let’s at least make it fun. Time to go 4 and 5 receivers wide. Duff, Strong, Black, Dremel, and Miller can all Ball. Dremel and Duff are better than our opponents 4th and 5th DBs. No more rock fights. Let’s aim to score 40 -50 points. We opened up the offense in 2008, and it paid dividends, and landed us in a bowl game. The same can happen this year.

Athan threw for 313 yards vs USC. He can throw for 300-400 yards against each of our remaining opponents.

Opening the Offense is playing to our strengths. Duff and Black have grown up, and are ready to go. Have to get better at converting red zone opportunities.

On defense, let’s go man-man. Too many times, kids are confused as to their assignment, and receivers are running free. UCLA caught us. USC caught us. This cannot continue if we are to be successful, and our remaining opponents don’t have the athletes USC has, so it’s an opportune time to be more aggressive. Let’s get it!

If we’re going to go down, might as well go down swinging.

OT: Joey Jay dead at 89. First Little Leaguer to reach MLB

He died a month ago in Florida but the world wasn't notified because he wasn't part of today's acceptable crowd.

He signed with the Braves in 1953 at age 17,but had to remain in the bigs for two years due to the then existing bonus rule.
He was traded to the Reds in 1961,winning 21 games that season and one in the Series, allowing only a two run shot to Yogi.

Portal Program

It's time to become a Portal Program instead of a developmental program. It's the quickest way to improve where you need upgrades in talent, you still recruit and develop those players, while they are developing, fill the holes with transfers. The question is, can the staff identify who are the best transfers that we can afford and also what positions we need to get these transfers for?
