Can RU Superfrosh lead us through the Big Dance?

Seems like many of us are excited about having 2 NBA draft picks in our starting lineup, but we correctly temper our expectations for this year because they’re both freshmen, plus we don’t have a dominant center.

With the news that Carmelo Anthony’s son is coming in for a visit, it got me thinking about that 2002/03 Cuse team. I was at the RAC when RU beat them, eventual national champs that year. So I know anything can happen, and there’s likely some luck involved as well.

But interestingly, that Cuse team also had 2 freshmen starters (forward Carmelo Anthony and point guard Gerry McNamara), 2 future NBA players (Anthony and sophomore Hakim Warrick), and no dominant center (sophomore Craig Forth). They had one senior starter, guard Kueth Duany.

Look, I’ll be disappointed if this RU team underperforms, but it’s also possible that we can excel in ways that Cuse team did, with the similar makeup of our starting lineup, not to mention maybe our best depth in decades.

Kick Returns

Great win on the road in an extremely difficult place to win... in fact, we'd never won there before. However, what the f with not allowing any kick/punt returns?? I understand on some punt situations and some kickoffs if the kickoff reaches the end zone, but we've had several opportunities for returns this year - including at least 2 today, where fair catches were made instead. GS was NOT always like this....

Schiano has to do better

Collectively, that was some of the worst situational decisions I've ever seen a HC make.
-Passed up two chip shot FGs inside the 5.
-Up 16 points, he chooses to kick a 53 yard FG by a kicker who is shaky at best. Thus, giving an opponent that you've dominated all day a short field to get back in the game... ON THE ROAD!
I love you coach, but that's terrible coaching.

That said, I'll happily take the W, but it should've never been that close.
@Richie O I'd love to see the reporters ask him about these decisions.

Sam Brown lowers the shoulder

When the injury report came out at 1:30 and Sam Brown was no where to be found, I said we’re winning this game. We have 2 monster RBs now who are healthy and this will be the secret weapon that pounds defenses going forward this season.

Watch this below. This is big boy football vs. the ACC and like Schiano says, “breaking their will” when you do this play after play …

OT: Drawing on board expertise: Toms River for a retirement residence?

So looking to retire close to but not on the beach. Familiar with OC and that area but it has gotten so expensive even inland. I fish quite a bit at IBSP and Corson’s Inlet. I noticed that Toms River has more than a few really nice recently flipped houses minutes from the island. What are the boards thoughts about property in that area. The taxes are lower than Somers Point and the area. Any of you live there or have any experience with the town?
