Did anyone say why Athan puked?

Rather odd to see what was essentially projectile vomiting by your starting QB as he runs on the field. I assumed it was well into the game based on when it was shown but maybe it was nerves before the first series? Maybe they "sat" on the video before deciding to air it?

But I never heard it mentioned after the video aired. Just curious. Nerves, food poisoning, flu?

VaTech game reminded me of Pitt in 06

We were underdogs in both games.
We controlled both games until late scores by the home team brings the home team back and wakes up the crowd.
Stadium is rocking and very loud.
We start our possession at our 25 and under pressure not to lose a game we lead throughout.
1st play goes for 60+ yards and leads to the clinching score.
We stop them and then run out the clock for big road win.

A Tale of 2 fanbases

VT Fanbase reaction: We lost and were pushed around. The score wasn't indicative to how much Rutgers dominated play. The outlook for the rest of the season is bleak.

Rutgers Fanbase reaction: We nearly lost and lost a very winnable game. Numerous missed opportunities and the defense sagged in the 4th quarter. The outlook for the rest of the season is still not clear.

OT: Monmouth Football has come a long way...Biggest Win in History

There is some good Football being played in Monmouth County....The Hawks get their 1st Win over a FBS ...1-A school on the road ...Wasn't long ago they didn't have a Program and when they started up again they were a D3 school...Good job by them and Congratulations!

I know they beat a 1-2 FIU team but FIU does have a 52-16 Win over Central Michigan this season

Kirk best game by a mile

I was very critical of Kirk last year. Yesterday was his best playcalling game since he has returned. He kept VA. Tech off balance all day not knowing if we were running or passing . He ran the same RPO over an over , giving Athan the option to run or hit Fletcher coming across formation or Miller on the sideline or on a wheel route. Finally an OC that runs the same play because the other team cannot stop it. He went to the well 1 too many times with the Fourth and 1 up 23-7 as Kyle would have walked in.
The screen pass on first down that Strong took to the 13 was the best call of the day or year , as all the momentum had shifted and the stadium was on fire . That pulled the game out which shouldn’t been close as we dominated that game .
Athan throwing for 269 yards with 64% completion with 10 yard average per 16 receptions was his best game of the year.

If Kirk continues to get everyone involved , with Kyle and Sam as a 1 . 2 punch , Athangetting the Tight end Fletcher a regular part of the offense , and mixing up pass and run we should put up 30 points per game( should have been 40-45 yesterday ) and we will be hard to beat.

In the Virginia Tech game thread, there were numerous posts saying they didn’t like the left hash placement on Jai’s first field goal miss from short range.

Is there something about Jai different than all the other right footed kickers?

His excellent field goal percentage doesn’t indicate to me anyone could have made the determination he’s less comfortable from the left hash.

Historically, the opposite hash from your leg is the easier kick, like making a right to left putt in golf

Where is Christian Dremel?

This hasn't been talked about even close to the amount I expected, but am I the only one who thinks the Dremel situation is weird? We're undefeated and the O looks much improved so I'm not going to complain too much, but how does our leading receiver and only bright spot from the passing game last year have ZERO catches and barely any snaps through 3 games? I get he's limited by only playing the slot and bringing in Miller hurts him but zero catches??? Miller is super dynamic and explosive he can be moved all over the field I'm not buying that as the only reason.

The receivers have been solid this year but the one area where they struggled especially early in the first 2 games is creating separation which is Dremel's specialty. Getting open underneath can only help Long and Strong on deep shots which have been a waste of a down so far this year. I just think back to last year with him torching 2nd rd pick Mikey Sainristil from Michigan for a TD and that double move that Wimsatt smoked vs OSU along with all his other consistent play and say why is this guy not on the field at all?
