Notes from Akron newspaper

Some notes … front 6 on defense looked solid, 2 QBs in action — sometimes at the same time, despite Akron being thin at the QB position, the money payed by Ohio State to Akron.
BTW, didn’t the Akron coach Joe Moorman decline a chance to interview for the Rutgers head coaching job?

RB Options

RU is stacked in the rb room and Kyle is at head of class who will get 20-25 carries per game. I see Brown get 5-10 carries per game but man Raymond looks like he can take it to the house every time he gets the rock.

If Raymond gets an explosive play (25yds+) off his few carries in league play, I think his role in the run game will increase by season end.

Raymond looks dynamic. We’ve had some great rbs at RU but this kid looks like Terrill Willis from yester years.

OT: Penn State’s OC

Worth noting that Penn State’s offensive coordinator, Andy Kotelnicki, is a Lance Leipold protege.
Mentioning Leipold at this site always nettles many contributors here.

“One thing that Kotelnicki has proven in his time as an offensive coordinator is that there’s more than one way to have a successful offense.”

Just a random observation:

There are currently 3 former RU Quarterback teams playing right now at the same time.
Simon at Temple, getting blown out by navy hasn’t gotten a snap that I can tell.
Snyder at Eastern Michigan losing at Washington and playing decent enough.
Wimsatt at Kentucky losing against South Carolina and playing very sparingly.

Just interesting scheduling and a random observation. Would like to see them do well. No ill will on my part
