OT: Notre Dame Schedule

Notre Dame had a nice opening win vs. No. 20 Texas A&M. But the A&M QB looked bad. I never saw so much miscommunication between a QB and his receivers; he threw right when the receivers were going left and vice versa. ND's remaining schedule is maybe not a joke, but quite easy.

Army, Navy, Northern Illinois, Purdue, Miami of Ohio, Stanford, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, a down Florida State at home, and USC away. They started out at No. 7. Being ND, look for them to move up as the season progresses. Looks like USC could be the only true test remaining. Then hopefully reality hits again at playoff time.

Akron Game.Wet and Wind?

Meteorologist Joe Martucci

🏈
A WET RUTGERS FOOTBALL GAME?
🏈

Ugh, this stinks. A mini coastal storm will move up the coast Saturday into Saturday night. I'm not ready to call the game a washout. In fact, I'm pretty sure tailgating Saturday morning will just be cloudy. That's the good news.
However, the later in the afternoon we go, the wetter. 20% chance it's dry *all game*.

Full update comes Friday. RRRRRRR

BB Recruiting 2025 PF schedules Rutgers Basketball Official visit

Rutgers Basketball's most recent offerree and 2025 big man Gevonte Ware has scheduled an OV for the weekend of September 6th he tells me.

Ware recently released his top four list of schools and it features Duquesne, DePaul, Rutgers and Wake Forest. He already took OVs to Duquesne and Wake Forest recently.

You can read more about him below, as he spoke with TKR a few weeks ago in regards to his Rutgers offer.

When do we get this season’s first bad officiating thread?

Like the Swallows of Capistrano, I await the annual threads from the armchair officials.
Did I miss the first “the refs screwed us” thread?
I’ll prime the pump. Notre Dame should never have had a final gasp yesterday.

Random public comments on RU here on West Coast

As I am usually wearing some kind of RU gear while out and about, it invites comments from total strangers.

It's pretty clear our visibility and perception have both improved over the last year. Here are 3 recent interactions I've had.
1. Going through the security bag check at the entrance to Downtown Disney in Anaheim, one of the security staff said, "Rutgers! You won't beat UCLA. No way!" I said "I guess we'll see in Piscataway. "

2. I was at Costco gas station in Beaverton OR, about half a mile from Nike HQ and the attendant saw my hat and said "Rutgers. Your football team is pretty good. Schiano's your coach, right?".

3. At Music Millennium, an old school record store today in Portland, one guy behind the counter sees my hat and says "Rutgers? You don't see that too much around here. You guys have quite the class coming in this year. Ace Bailey and... I can't think of the other guys name.." Dylan Harper, I say. And he says, "Yeah! That's it. He then says "and you'll be Top 10 in both football and basketball this year."
😁
Even if we never reach those levels this year, it's great that people think it's
possible.
My, how times have changed.

Notes from Akron newspaper

Some notes … front 6 on defense looked solid, 2 QBs in action — sometimes at the same time, despite Akron being thin at the QB position, the money payed by Ohio State to Akron.
BTW, didn’t the Akron coach Joe Moorman decline a chance to interview for the Rutgers head coaching job?

RB Options

RU is stacked in the rb room and Kyle is at head of class who will get 20-25 carries per game. I see Brown get 5-10 carries per game but man Raymond looks like he can take it to the house every time he gets the rock.

If Raymond gets an explosive play (25yds+) off his few carries in league play, I think his role in the run game will increase by season end.

Raymond looks dynamic. We’ve had some great rbs at RU but this kid looks like Terrill Willis from yester years.
