Best Game of the Season!

The team looked solid all around:

Solid on defense and very efficient on offense.

AK had had his best game of the season - 20/30 238 yards and 2 TDs.

Kyle was an absolute warrior today - he is the heart of the team.

The defense kept the opposition to < 20 pts for the 2nd week in a row.

We're going bowling!!!

(hopefully we didn't lose to many players to injuries)

Each season really does take on a life of its own

This season we returned a lot of experience, including big expectations for KM and our D. Many were predicting 7 or more wins; some as many as 10 wins.

What we couldn’t foresee was a 4 game losing streak midseason with injuries mounting, and losses in games we were either expected to win, needed to win, or felt we should’ve been more competitive in.

Then Greg and staff get the Bye with four games to go, get guys healthy, rally the troops, and we’re now playing our best football of the season on both sides of the ball.

Net/net, we’re 6-4 overall, 3-4 and in the middle of the B1G, with now two games to finish the season which appear very winnable.

From where we started, what we persevered through to turn this season around, and the next two opportunities in front of us to still make this a very successful season… super proud as a long time fan of the program and someone who believes in Greg Schiano.

The job is certainly not yet finished, but man have these last two games really brought some life back into the program and fanbase. Very excited for these last two regular season games.

Bowl Game Math

Officially able to do this, curious what our ceiling is with a strong finish. In theory, I think we want the former PAC-12 teams to finish strong since they have their old tie-ins, but UCLA and USC wrap up conference play against each other next week and Washington ends with Oregon, so no help there barring a huge upset.

Not sure it’s on the cards, but selfishly hoping for Music City Bowl against UF

The elephant in the room…..

Let’s get realistic. We are starting, in terms of minutes, three freshman playing games that last forty minutes vis a vis thirty two minutes in high school. They will be playing guys who are more physically mature and more experienced from a basketball perspective. There will be lots of traveling over the course of the season. The season is far longer than in high school. The bottom line is that there will be a “wall” at some point. There is no way they can. be expected to run up and down the court and play stifling defense without cost.
