Hoops was really clicking tonight

That was fun to watch. Guys are really starting to play well together. Not always on the same page as Derkack surprised Ace with a couple passes down on the baseline.

But they were sharing the ball better than we've seen in a few years.

We have so many options on offense it's absurd. If they continue to get the D dialed in, this team has tons of potential. Winning the B1G is not out of the question.

The staff did an amazing job identifying and signing huge pieces via the portal. Gonna be a fun season.

Army - Navy game(s)??

Who thought at the beginning of the year that Army and Navy could actually play twice this year? First in the AAC Championship game and followed a week later in America's Game the 125th Army - Navy Game!
Army has already locked up their spot in the AAC Championship. Navy needs a win today against Tulane. Another win next week is the guaranteed route but they still can get in with a loss and some help.
The real Army - Navy game is the bigger prize.
Game would played at West Point.
Go Navy, Beat Army....twice😁

Defense tonight.

So its Monmouth and we didnt do any pressing and i understand that. We usually do press and mix up the defenses. I feel like that was in order for the second half. That kid was on fire from 3 point range, but we really made no adjustments to break up their rhythm. There were points when it looked like we just stopped playing defense.

We had a chance to really put this team away and we didn’t. Thats a concern going forward. I know we are not used to putting up 98 points, but if we are really a Top 25 team, we need to play at both ends.

My quick Monmouth take.

1. The guy from Monmouth was unconscious. Wish we had stuck to a traditional man rather then the frequent center hedging and double teaming.
2. Been mentioned in other threads but Dercack might be the steal from the portal. And he’s back next year!
3. Ogbole is lost out there. I mean really lost. Sommerville showing off his shot blocking abilities this game-still a little lost on D.
4. The Harper and Bailey show is legit. However aces last missed three (terrible shot) let Monmouth back in the game a bit.
5. Hayes is as advertised.
6. Good to see Acuff connect on a three. Hope to see him continue to progress.
7. Martini was en fuego. Nuff said there!

OT: Just to catch up on what is going on in CFB NIL world. Portnoy offers $3mil for a QB for Michigan

Dave Portnoy makes $3 million offer to Michigan to land top quarterback: ‘I will sign them’

t’s “Blue Chips” coming to life.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy said he will spend up to $3 million annually to help the Michigan football team land a premier quarterback now that players can be paid under NIL rules.

The No. 12 Wolverines (3-1) have received shaky play from their quarterbacks this year in their attempt to repeat as national champions.

“Michigan — I will be the quarterback guy,” Portnoy said Thursday. “You just say, ‘Dave, you go,’ — I’ll talk to (coach) Sherrone (Moore). ‘Who do you guys want? Who’s in there? Give me a group, I’ll go get them. I will sign them, million, $2 million, whatever it is.'”

House v. NCAA Settlement -- this changes everything

I notice a lot of discussion about NIL. So I want to be sure that everyone is aware that the judge in the House v. NCAA antitrust case has given preliminary approval to a settlement. The settlement provides for a payment of $2.78 billion (yes, 'billion") to past athletes to compensate them for not being able to benefit from NIL. It would allow colleges to spend up to $22 million annually to pay athletes. In addition, it allows NIL deals between collectives and athletes only when the NIL agreements serve "a valid business purpose" rather than being disguised pay-for-play schemes.

The settlement says nothing about two important matters: (a) whether the effect of Title IX's ban on gender discrimination; and (b) unionization of college athletes. We will have to see what happens on both fronts.

Here's a fairly understandable summary of the agreement and the timetable. As you can see, the changes are scheduled to take effect with the 2025-2026 season.https://www.bradley.com/insights/pu...d-bring-significant-changes-to-college-sports

Church of Chop Saturday Sermon - RU v. Maryland 11.16.24

Let us all pray as we prepare for the Church of Chop as our Lord and Savior Greg Schiano and his Knights take on the Terrapins of Maryland. Following a hard fought victory at home, Our Knights travel Southward to the land of Crab cakes and Old Bay to face a regional B1G foe. We continue our quest for a bowl and Crusade for Glory… and we shall have no fear.

Let Dynamite Dymere Miller blaze past their snapping snouts. Let Strong the Summoner streak and speed past their sinning shells. Let Brother Djabome, the Quebec Quasher, and Brother Powell, the Merchant of Pain, topple their repenting reptiles on their Under Armored backs. And let the Loaded Leg of Pistol Patel fire the pigskin through the Holy Uprights.

And let us not forget the one and only commandment… “THOU. SHALT. CHOP!”
