FB Recruiting The latest on a Transfer Portal DB target…

So a lot of you have been asking me about Notre Dame transfer DB Jayden Bellamy and I’m hearing Rutgers is putting full court press on him and he should be on campus soon. Personally I don’t expect him to commit without visiting with the staff one more time. This will be an important visit because there are a lot of new faces on the defensive side of the ball for the Scarlet Knights since Bellamy was last being recruited by the program.

One interesting factor here is that per our ND friends, we were told Bellamy had a tough time acclimating out at ND, so moving closer to his former home of NJ would be the natural next step.

Bellamy is currently ranked No. 128 overall in the Rivals Transfer Portal rankings.

Watched an IU TV Podcast Hosted by Some Guy Named Leary~

He and some other IU clone mashed the recap analysis for 39 minutes on You tube. Trace, Race X, Miller Cobb.....recommendation: don't watch it.

On the other hand, "if only this shot or that shot had gone in, it would have been...might have been a different game": yeah, soccer or football... and if my aunt had balls. .

Bottom line they're not worried about their WHoosiers...and i don't care about them except when we play them. Oh yeah, for those Whoosier fans who have apparently have no memory of how we beat them previously here's Mr. Harper / his big balls "ONIONS" shot:

Now to Leary, who prefaced his remark toward the end of their gab fest, with "No disrespect, but Rutgers doesn't have anyone who would scare you". R U Freakin' nuts?

X scares me but not Paul Mulchay, or Simpson, Caleb or anyone else on our team.

If Simpson can score 8-10 points in 60 seconds (think he's done it twice now...with a predicted MORE to come) he seems like he could be Derek "the Flash" Simpson- and he's scary good.

If Cam gets back on track, Caleb continues to mend & play tough D awhile his O looks better than years past (not including last year's ND game), Hyatt adds double figures / rebounds, Mag continues to play tough D / score from mid range and Cliff is freed from idiotic refs calling fouls before he steps on the court....Rutgers might take Indy's spot in the upper B!G echelons.

Besides I'm leery....of anyone named Todd "the Answer Man" Leary.

Rutgers Men's Soccer Set to Ring The Bells at Old Queens Friday Afternoon

Football Interesting tidbit from Nebraska site….

Take this fwiw…..as it might just be because Shaw previously worked for Rhule, but here’s what they put in their coaching staff article recently….

Receivers Coach

The final updates of the day are a couple quick ones at receivers coach.
One name that circulated my way from non-sources is Damiere Shaw, the receivers coach at Rutgers.

After checking in with a few sources, Shaw is not in the top group of candidates who the Huskers are targeting. I do not have additional names who I am confident are in the mix. What I do know is that one of the top priorities Nebraska is looking for in its next receivers coach is recruiting ties to Texas and the Midwest.

C. Vivian Stringer Day \ Dec 4

CVS was the face of RUWBB for many years and when people thought of RUWBB, Vivian Stringer was the name most associated with the women's basketball program.
Well deserved
535 victories as the aru hc and a .638 winning percentage tend to make a HOF coach the face of the program
>Following a legendary career, Hall of Fame head coach C. Vivian Stringer will be enshrined on the court at Jersey Mike's Arena with a dedication ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 4<

How to Honor Izien - the Zero Back

This sorta just hit me when we were talking about Bellamy and that he may take over the Izien role, I say that since Schiano basically invented this position this year and now looks like we will continue it now we keep on saying that person X will take on the role Izien used to have. Lets just call the position in honor of the OG's number...the Zero Back

What do you think

Schiano Man

Back by popular demand .
sing along to the tune of Piano Man by Billy Joel .

It's 12 o'clock on a Saturday

The regular crowd shuffles in

There's an old fan sittin' next to me

Wondering if rutgers will ever win again’

He says, "Schiano can you get me a victory?

I don’t remember how it goes

But it's sad and it's sweet when we used to compete

I heard you can schedule Wagner for one of those

La, la-la, di-di-da , NIL La-di-da NIL

La-la di-di-da da-dum, NIL la la

Get us a victory, you're the Schiano man

Get us a victory tonight

Well, we're all in the mood for a victory

Because you don’t got us feelin' alright

Now Nunzio the Interim guy is a friend of mine

He sets up many punt situations as you see

And he's quick with a joke, or a three-and-out

But there's some place that he'd rather be

He says, "Schiano, the offensive line is killing me"

As a smile ran away from his face

"Well, I'm sure that I could be a High School Coach again, If I could get out of this place"

Oh, la, la-la, di-di-da- NIL

La-la di-di-da da-dum- NIL La –dum

Now Gleeson is the guy Schiano canned

His playcalls were always badly planned

And he's talkin' with Flood, who's still a dud

And probably will be for life

And the Board of Governor’s is practicing politics

As the tailgaters slowly get stoned

Yes, they're sharing a Rutgers defeat again

But it's better than losing alone

Get us a victory, you're the Schiano man

Get us a victory tonight

Well, we're all in the mood for a victory

But you don’t got us feelin' alright

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday

And Hobbs gives me a smile

'Cause he knows that it's Schiano they've been comin' to see

To forget about the Ash hire for a while

And the stadium train horn sounds like a carnival

The visiting fans are drinking our beer

And there is Schiano at the bar, asking for bread in the NIL jar

And says Sean Clifford what the hell are you doin' in the tunnel here?

Oh, la, la-la, di-di-da – NIL

La-la di-di-da da-dum

Get us a victory, you're the Schiano man

Get us a victory tonight

Well, we're all in the mood victory

Good thing we are playing Wagner tonight.

NIL evolving - Rutgers vs. other schools

NIL (Now It's Legal) is certainly evolving before our eyes
As you guys know, I'm an FSU first and Rutgers second, and actively follow / have tickets for / donate to both universities' collectives & teams

Noles currently have 3 collectives simultaneously going on
Note, this is not a wealthy fanbase by any stretch

Women's school until 1947
Constantly and still being held down by UF in statewide government issues
Not nearly the war chest of $$ the big boys have, nor the number of donors, no big $$ donor, not generations of doctors/lawyers/etc.
Always got by doing "the most with less"

The skinny:

Battles End
- newest collective, main goal is retention of current players. Football focused

Rising Spear - The first collective they launched, merged with Warpath850 in the beta stages. Brokers deals, focuses on all sports, more so a mix of Battles End and Micconope 1851
https://risingspear.com/

Micconope 1851 - Focuses on current college athletes getting financial opportunities (think Caleb, Gavin, etc.)
http://micconope1851.com/

Knights of the Raritan (https://knightsoftheraritan.com/) and Knight Society (https://www.on3.com/nil/news/eric-l...gers-scarlet-knights-nil-name-image-likeness/) are what we currently have. Each school does it differently with many different factors playing in (power players, big money donors, fan base, donor base, ex athletes being involved, etc.)

This is a great link showing what each school is doing
https://businessofcollegesports.com/tracker-university-specific-nil-collectives/

It will be interesting to see where this leads us. I firmly believe in NIL and hope we can get corporations / regular fans on board to at least compete in football, consistently make the tourney in bball, and be elite in Olympic sports

College sports is my passion, I love everything about it and sincerely hope that we can step up as a university and fanbase to compete with the big boys. The potential is there, and I'd love to see it come to fruition
