The concept would be to sign players to 1-4 year contracts to help counter increased mobility. This could be done in tandem with NIL make it a two way street. Player can secure a commitment from a school, at the same time they can also just sign for a year if they feel they have upside.

Has there been any official announcement on what his injury to the shoulder is? Kind of worrisome. A stinger as mentioned should allow him to play if he’s comfortable, he’s practicing without contact so he must Feel good enough. But If it’s a separated shoulder, they’re limiting contact for proper healing, and than can easily be 4-6 week. See ya in January then.

Folded like a cheap suit when it mattered. Biggest issue - aside from blowing point blank layups with no hand in the face - is we have no point guard. Tonight McConnell was trying to be a point guard. He is not a point guard. Simpson isn't ready yet. Spencer was timid handling the ball. So we had no way to run an offense. No one to penetrate and dish. We still had the game won - but as the post title states, they just weren't mentally tough down the stretch. We had all kinds of shots but just kept missing. Make a couple and its game over. But the bright lights were too much tonight. I just hope tonights chokeville produces some determination and grit and next time they put the hammer down and finish the job.

This needs to be addressed. When was the last time we won a road or neutral site OOC game?
I’ll give you a hint, Covid didn’t exist. This is a major problem and is why we end up late in the season on the bubble when we should be squarely in.

Unfortunately, I have no clue, given that we don't know if we'll have Paul back, and given that we've played all cupcakes, except Temple, which was a loss, but without both Paul and Caleb - and at least Caleb is back (looking close to 100%, albeit a little rusty on offense - not on defense).

Making it even harder to predict is that Miam, IU and WF have also played almost all cupcakes (the exceptions were Miami lost to MD, IU beat Xavier, and WF beat GA), so hard to get a read on them, while only OSU and SHU have played a tough schedule so far (3 strong teams each).

My fear is we're not battle tested well enough and will also miss our floor general greatly, assuming Paul is out. However, I do like how unselfish this team is on offense and how good our team defense usually is - especially with Caleb back and with Paul and Caleb out, we've gotten many more quality minutes from guys that wouldn't have played much so far, which is good, building our depth. Good defense should keep us in most games and if we can get some timely threes and hit some FTs to go with that, we'll do ok in this stretch (i.e., 2-3 wins with Caleb and w/o Paul and maybe 3-4 with Paul and Caleb at 100%).

With everything that happened this year, if someone could explain WTF happened at Maryland, maybe it helps the sting. I have made justifications for the other losses Are they legit justifications? Probably not, but they do make some sense.

I can’t get passed what happened at Maryland! As Greg says, you work out almost 365 days a year to play 12 football games if you are lucky enough to stay healthy. 13, if you play in a bowl.

I understand that the players, the coaches and their families take it harder than i do. Im just a fan. But i am a big fan and watch every play of every game, donate and tailgate my xxss off. I just want to understand how every aspect of that last game of the season imploded like that? Yes, we had some takeaways so the defense did some good things but we never capitalized. It seemed that maryland converted on just about every 3rd down, regardless of how many yards they needed. They even went for it on 4th and 6 and converted.

Im not saying maryland stinks. They have plenty of talent. But you dont put up a ZERO on the scoreboard, when you are playing a middle of the road conference team on the last day of the season. They were already bowl eligible.

Im sure most of you feel the same way i do. It was the worse case scenario for ending a season. Schiano is not a coach who doesnt prepare. Was there anyone in the inner circle who could have anticipated playing this badly?

Sorry to vent. Just trying to find a way to feel good again about the trajectory of the program. As bad as it was with Penn State; and it wasn’t pretty, i was still okay. But now, i need some answers.

Rutgers is only a 2.5 dog which is essentially a push. I would have thought 5. Bodes well in my opinion.

As mentioned in our transfer portal tracker thread, Rutgers has started to show interest in Western Michigan transfer defensive tackle Braden Fiske so much interest that they have decided to offer him along with Mississippi, Mississippi State, Penn State and West Virginia.

However the rumor is Florida State is making a big push here and despite not offering yet, they have shown significant interest at this point. So something to watch there.
