    Recruit & Player Reactions

That is a great pitch and hopefully it would work. My concern is, as someone posted on another thread, that if you look at the OSU Defensive recruits, few if any list Ash as the coach who recruited him. How will he improve that in an area he has no experience with.

    Smacks of search firm

The biggest issue isn't that he's a coordinator. Narduzzi was a coordinator and he would have been a great hireastrong recruiter and area ties - The issue is that you have a guy who not only is not known as a strong recruiter but he has no ties to the area. This is exactly like the terry Shea...

    Ash will get us Smashed

The fact that there was a big name recommendation is meaningless. It's all backscratching for buddies. Terry Shea was hired despite having no contacts at all in the entire east coast based on Bill Walsh's recommendation. This is the same nonsense. How on earth do you hire a coach without any...

    Anderson, Shea and now Ash

Hey nuts - I've had several posts about soccer and wrestling so why don't you shove it and get out of my face and get a life. This is a horrible hire by every measure - a non- recruiter with no local ties. Couldn't be worse and you should expect to see a lot more posts like this so get used to it.

    Anderson, Shea and now Ash

I hope that his guy can get it done because this hire has eerie similarities to both the Anderson and Shea hires. Anderson because they are both well respected coordinators with no recruiting bona fides and we saw how horrific a recruiter Anderson turned out to be - albeit he had the worst...

    Top Ten National Wrestling Rankings...

Two teams in the top 10 at the same time - that is a Rutgers first - very cool. Now if MBB and FB can just ratchet it up a bit, things could really start heading north all around.

    Consistency

What's interesting in watching the team is that no matter whether a shot is taken early in the possession or late in the possession it's almost always a shot that does not result from an effective ball rotation. It's almost as if the players know that "...coach will yell at us if we shoot too...

    OT: Cost--Facilities--Wrestling and Soccer

Nothing will happen without major private donations. Heck, I fear that we lack the money to fire our over-his-head FB HC, let alone build facilities (though absolutely needed - I follow all RU sports) for Olympic sports

OT: My Daughter Signed Her NLI Today...with Rutgers

Wow, How great is that! Congrats!! As I've previously posted, as an alum, was so excited a few months ago when my daughter was contacted by RU for her sport - she decided to take different route (smaller school, didn't want the D1 experience), but I can imagine how excited you must be! All...

    Baylor should be the model

Baylor also has the #1 rated college tennis facility in the country and that says a lot for those of us who have seen the facilities at UCLA etc. Their tennis locker room is more upscale than revenue sport locker rooms at some other D1 schools http://www.baylorbears.com/facilities/tennis.html

Hey Politi/Duggan: Here is the headline- "RU Admin declares war on donors"

I hear you Not, but I don't agree that it's not about money. Everything about RU is about money (the lack of it) and the creation of the Gofundme thing shows how we all recognize that. Flood has to go, but this pathetic piker approach to doing it, that had absolutely no chance to succeed...

Hey Politi/Duggan: Here is the headline- "RU Admin declares war on donors"

I am no fan of the Administration's lack of enthusiasm for football or for their seeming lack of understanding of how sports success builds greater success (e.g., last Friday's NY Times article on the U of Alabama). However from an institutional point of view, their actions are understandable...

OT: Lady Knights vs TTFP at The Barn

Agreed - not a bad showing considering WVB is our weakest program by far. A total of one win in conference play in two years and even outside the conference, a very weak program.

NYT: Alabama makes 95M a year on football, spotlight on NJ student attending

This article says a lot, especially noting the acceptance rate - I am very familiar with the college application process and acceptance rates generally and that acceptance rate is very low relative to other state U's outside the elite ones and near elite ones and is certainly better than RU. The...

Why are Michigan fans so arrogant?

I stand corrected, if you are correct, but as I recall they played in a BCS bowl and we didn't.

Why are Michigan fans so arrogant?

You mean sort of like the arrogance that so many on this board show toward Syracuse and UConn despite the fact that (i) SU beat us, pretty soundly at least once, 2 of 3 times in recent years when their team had no talent at all and (ii) in our prior weak conference we never won a title outright...

Laviano currently rated #4 qb in Big Ten

I was far from a Nova fan and his repeated mindless over-the-line passes and other head-scratching plays were awful. But he was a much better passer than Laviano though, again, I don't think Nova all around was a particularly good QB.
