I don't think that is a current video, since the building is now up, and amost done, But it has a great Computer Generated rendition of the facilities, which is nice to see the layout and other stuff.
Yea, I got confused when Goodale said it'll be complete in June of next year. My 1st thought, damn those NJ Unions.

For those with a FLo subscription, there is a nice RU roster analysis on there today with projected lineups and thoughts where the freshmen fit in and what our recruiting needs are for the future (HINT: lightweights, heavy weights and Ferrari):

https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6519750-rutgers-depth-charts-targets

I have a few issues with the analysis in that some of the projected weights may be off (like MVB at 141), but they speak highly of the team, NJ as a wrestling hotbed and the new performance center. Also still lists Mulligan and Wright on the team, but still positive to see the write up.

What about Correnti? He is not even listed at 197 as part of our projected lineup.

Just saw on the Facebook forum that Sammy Alvarez has entered the transfer portal and decided not to attend NC State. He would fill a big need.
Goodale should put the full court press on Alvarez. He would get to come home, train everyday with Suriano in a state of the art practice facility, and wrestle every home match in front of one of the most rabid fanbases in the nation at the RAC.

Wrestling Rankings are confusing

Intermat ranks Alvarez # 13 at 126
Flo ranks Alvarez # 3 at 126

NC State is stacked in the lower weights with Camacho, Orine, Trombley, Wilson, and Jack's littler brother coming in next year. The room may have been too tough for Alvarez.

At Rutgers, expect him to redshirt and then compete for the 133 slot the following year. Hope we get him.

Their loss is our gain -They have to many kids at the lower weights with not enough starting spots.Good example Bryce Meredith left for wyoming and see what he accomplished.

We need fill in 133 post Suriano with some studs.

I wouldn't say the room was too tough, as I don't think he backs away from competition. Rather, most top recruits want to start early so they may move around to find a better roster fit with a team that doesn't have a bunch of kids around the same weight and class years. Not everyone wants to sit like Cassar and others at PSU.

Getting Alvarez would be huge. What are the teams in play for him?
RU does have T. Graff in their RTC and that is a really good draw.
As long as Arizona State doesn't get him :),

According to Kratch, RU Wrestling Opening Day will be on 11/2 at the RAC. Quad meet with LIU-Post in their D1 debut, and D3 Centenary and Stevens.

Lot of new wrestling fans over the last few years don’t know this but our All American Scott DelVecchio committed to NC State and went down after his HS graduation but left after a few weeks and came to Rutgers. #ImOld

This is so funny and random because I was just reading an old email from 2013 yesterday where we were talking about that very subject!

Scott D got free tuition because his dad worked for the University I believe. With Alvarez we would have to find money this late in the game. Tough chore. Hope he qualifies for financial aid!

Bill but wouldn't any decent wrestling team also be in this position this late in the game? I mean he could always go to a third world country like Rider, but they don't produce National Champions now do they.

Yes I am sure most top teams have most of their money committed. Don’t forget we just added 2 or 3 guys late plus we possibly allocated some funds to existing team members. This is why coaches get paid the big bucks to figure it out.

Agree WNG, most teams have their money committed and I would bet RU(especially adding guys late) does not have any money for Alvarez. BUT that is what top programs do....they convince studs to come without getting money or getting very little until money opens up in a year or two.
From what I have heard(both from RU people and others)is that it would be a shock if Alvarez does not come to RU. Already a monster class, he would really push us up another few notches!!

Any truth to the projection that Iowa State will use the money they retained when Anderson didn't qualify for Alvarez. Dresser is known to have good Jersey connections including Mekhi Lewis and David McFadden.
