Creedo crackers shoots from the lip he tells it like he sees it. Not everyone agrees with that approach but remember it’s a message board not everyone sees or says things The same way.
Just so we make things clear here I'm not creedo. I know all of you want to think that, but point being is that I'm not.

So you’re saying you’re Grappler89 :sunglasses:

Back on point, it takes a special individual to hang on a DIV 1 wrestling mat let alone be successful. I saw good friends and former teammates of mine who were state champs crumble in a college room. Personally, I sat there in Sacci’s office and told him face to face I was walking away... came back a year later but tore my knee and walked away again the following season. Leaving the sport like that was the worst decision of my life and I always regretted it. Still bothers me to this day. I wasn’t great (nothing more than a 2 time County finalist and a Region place winner) but tough enough to hang for 4 years at that time... but I punked out. At least I had those 2 years and met life long friends. Unfortunately no party or frankly Pu#&y (sorry Rondi) every replaced the feeling of walking in that room with my brothers... just didn’t realize it at the time.

Guys like Mulligan had a special gift and were getting tuition money to continue their dream... but they piss it away. Like I said, it takes a special person and drive.

I quit baseball my senior year in college. Don’t regret it at all. Just wanted to have fun. I was practicing 6 hours a day. Giving up my weekends to games. Just wanted to be a college student for once. Live it up. Don’t regret it at all. I had a great senior year. The burnout factor is real. I can’t imagine the sacrifice wrestlers must make when you include the same practice times with the diet restrictions. Major props to those who can do it.

So you insulted me twice call calling me a clown and jackass and I'm supposed to take you seriously or something? Anymore bulshit you want to talk about? My posts are on point and concise. I'll put the house on it that you have never stepped on the wrestling mat in your entire life, and if you did,you had limited success. Confident people don't have to get their point across by insulting people.

First off I did not call you a clown or a jackass...I stated that some of your posts come off making you sound like that... If you want people to keep making Creedo or RuGrappler references...Then by all means keep doing what you're doing.... But if you want people to take you seriously on here... And I'm sure you could add a lot of value on here being a fmr RU wrestler... Just sayin... And for the record I wrestled through high school with limited success... But I enjoyed every minute of it...

hey cracker, you are 100% creedo. come on, we can all see this thing with 100% certainty. and i don't care as long as you keep it civil and respect other RU wrestling fans. some of us probably cheered for your wrestling matches at RU.

Hey mental midget, what exactly is it that your extremely limited brain thinks I am crying about? Go back to pretending you were actually something 27 years ago, RUGrappler89...NOT!
Obviously your"brain doesn't thinks',too read a book once in awhile. You need too get girlfriend. You are way to torked up.You are also a young kid too.Seasoned adults don't act like you do.Anyway, are you done being a tough guy? Good, let's talk about RU wrestling and how they are gonna mop up Minnesota.By the way,I'm one of Billy Smith's biggest fans. I find it heart wrenching that he has regressed. My comments are simply too light a fire under his arse.He has all the tools to make it too the finals of the NCAA's,but he has got to get that signature win.If he beats Kroells, and keeps it close with Coon,he will walk through the NCAA's with confidence.

Billy hasn't regressed.. he just has a mental block against the better guys..He pretty much always beats the guys he should beat...But he tries to be too careful vs. the top guys...
I don't know what you would call it then, because he was always fired up two years ago,and now he doubts himself.I definitely think it is the senior jitters. He's under alot of pressure too AA,and I think that has gotten to him.Physically, there are not too many gin the land, that could match his strength and agility.I'm interested too see how he does against Kroell's.It's going to be low scoring and may come down to overtime, which worries me.

How about we don't turn the Other Sports board into a giant pile of crap? Agree?

Some people need to take a step back from the keyboard and think before they post.
This is a wrestling forum..right? Are we talking about ballet or something, because wrestling is a tough brutal sport, and most Jersey wrestling fans are tough, gritty and sometimes outlandish with their posts.Hope this forum doesn't turn into themat.com, that lost hundreds of members for being more than G rated.Do you like being called a D-bag by some punk, because you spoke your mind about an obvious issue with some of the Rutgers athletes? PhilaFan,isn't Free Speech an Amendable right? Maybe you need posters too tell fans and athletes the "way it is",because that certainly didn't go on at the football forum..and look at that teams results.I agree, college athletes are young men are under alot of pressure from fans, family, coaches and the university, and any added pressure is unnecessary and uncalled for.I will tone it down.

Creedo, that falls under the category of even if you think it you don't need to post it. Just keep that to yourself. Nothing good can come from it.
Dude..relax.It was a simple post about what I thought was happening. It's wrestling, not knitting. If I made fun on his parents or siblings, then I get the backlash.

Fair enough rufeelinit. I just think his fire is needed across the board. Didn't think you were comparing him to Brands boys, just using that as an example of what I don't like.

Creedo... I think Brands is certifiably insane.
JB...you think( referencing Brands)??. rufeelinit, there is no harm in voicing what you think.I actually kind of agree. For a moment,I thought that Welch was gonna wack Perrotti, when he got in his face.Scott knows how too control his athletes, and Perrotti knows how too dial it down when instructed.Did you notice AP,when he was escorting Gravina's dad out of the Indiana gym,as Gravina's dad was flipping out,AP was yelling back at the crowd, and he certainly wasn't saying "please be nice too Mr.Gravina..lol"

Many, many more. Comic gold, lol

Not that it matters but Lot of similarities, plus both wrestled for RU?? How about post under RU Creecker lol.
Not bad for off season entrtainment.

Ok..Tomato..Tomato.You called me a jackass and a clown. Personally, I could give a rats ass.Its a an anonymous wrestling board .What I don't like,is guys like yourself who pass judgement on my takes and assessment ( and criticism if you want to call it) of D1 wrestlers and the lifestyle, when you never where in that world. This is no criticism of you,but its like the dads in town who never did a sport in their life, but have everything and anything to criticize when someone else challenges an opinion or has critical and accurate points to be made. One thing people don't like to hear is harsh criticism...and the truth.I am all up for debating, but not when it's from guys who have thin skin like you and can't handle the truth.Abro..are you some stalker? Do have your own"I can't wait to see Creedo again files"..lol?Man dude! That's some serious investigation.Your daughters prom date most of had DNA and backround checks, blood drawn and 12 state FBI Surveliance..lol

You folks seem a little more understanding of differing views than other forums I've been on, so I won't give my customary warning of, "Dangerous words about to ensue," as I don't suspect that people will want me banned for this view on here.

I'm not making this post about Northern Iowa or Gene Lybbert as much as I am about the (de)evolution of wrestling over time, in my view. Gene Lybbert, who was a two time all-American at UNI and a national champion in 1952 for UNI, died this weekend at 89. https://www.richardsonfuneralservice.com/obituaries/Eugene-Gene-Lybbert/

In reading more about Gene I came upon his finals match in 1952 and was IMMEDIATELY struck by one thing: the lack of "stalling" (the quotes are deliberate, as I always write the word that way, in the context of wrestling). Understand, I live in Iowa and have heard that word, "STALLING!" screamed so loud for so long by the Sqwawkeye contingent that I've learned to loathe the term and to have become a critical objector to how many have dumbed down this term for us.

Imagine that match being wrestled today and how you'd hear hyenas screaming from the tops of their lungs for "stalling," yet that is how wrestling was for decades and decades. I stopped wrestling in the late 70's and we all wrestled that way as well. We took a person down, rode them, and the guy on bottom, who was LEGITIMATELY being kept down by a better opponent, was not called for "stalling," as people who are bored by the sport and the art of riding would demand of the ref today. Amazing to see the contrast of what I believe to be our devolution today.

Anyway, enjoy the art of wrestling, folks. This, top and bottom, simply goes with the turf (mat?) with this thing we call wrestling.

Crap, that is NOT a good thing....If guilty, Minnesota has to release him?
I am not a big fan of his perceived attitude, but he has too much talent to waste.

As rumored on social media, the HS transfers begin...

Hunterdon Central junior Brett Ungar, who won a New Jersey state title at 106 pounds this past season, and incoming Phillipsburg freshman Holden Garcia have transferred to Notre Dame of Green Pond High School in Easton, Pa., a rising power in Class AA.

* * *

Several other area wrestlers from the Hunterdon-Warren area, including incoming freshmen at Delaware Valley and North Hunterdon, have also been rumored to be heading to Notre Dame, but according to head coaches Andy Fitz and Chris Hrunka, they have not been informed that any of their wrestlers are leaving those respective Hunterdon County programs.

For those with a FLo subscription, there is a nice RU roster analysis on there today with projected lineups and thoughts where the freshmen fit in and what our recruiting needs are for the future (HINT: lightweights, heavy weights and Ferrari):

https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6519750-rutgers-depth-charts-targets

I have a few issues with the analysis in that some of the projected weights may be off (like MVB at 141), but they speak highly of the team, NJ as a wrestling hotbed and the new performance center. Also still lists Mulligan and Wright on the team, but still positive to see the write up.

and if you don't have FloPro subscription, we put this interview with Coach Goodale talking about the new facilities up on youtube for free!

I don't think that is a current video, since the building is now up, and amost done, But it has a great Computer Generated rendition of the facilities, which is nice to see the layout and other stuff.
